I really hope not. As we've gotten Batman: TaS and Batman: Beyond this seems like the logical next step.

I have it on DVD but haven't opened them or watched this series yet. I am holding out for a blu-ray release (and am waiting to watch Batman Beyond until afterwards).

I'm ready!

Great news. Shame about the wait though. Now if only someone would properly remaster the Fleisher shorts...

I can't imagine the source of that tweet lying, don't see the point there. I just wonder where they got that artwork from. Like, I'm pretty sure it's fan-made or a mock-up. I suppose it's also possible WB just got lazy and just slapped a BD banner on the existing DVD artwork and called it a day.

That artwork is definitely fake, or WB sucks.

You can see that they basically took this DVD cover, and cropped it to fit BD dimensions. In doing so, it cuts off part of Superman's boots

WB reused the DVDs front and back for their Teen Titans Blu-ray seasons. It wouldn't be the first time.

But would they cut off part of the artwork to do that? I imagine they'd do a better job than that, but let's see.

Andd I found it! Artwork is 100% fake. A simple google image search of "Superman animated series Blu-ray" revealed the exact artwork on this site where the designer says it's a mock-up. Nice of that original tweet not to mention that huh

So is this Warner Home Video or Warner Archive? Big difference these days, especially when it comes to animation.

So this is fake? I hope Warner releases this series on Blu-Ray at some point.

I won't get excited as probably it will be Warner Archive, and even if its not, it won't include latinamerican spanish audio or subtitles. Batman The Animated Series was a sucess over latinamerica as it included the original latinamerica audio as we saw it on TV when we were young.
Not including that audio is a big mistake in terms of sales you limit this to only english speaking customers and collector's only.
But as warner lately on all cartoons doesn't care about latinamerica (Batman Beyond, Young Justice S3, Legion of Superheroes and all releases of Hanna Barbera classics), i would be surprised if they included AT LEAST the original latinamerican audio.

Dave used to post here pretty regularly. He didn’t say that the image was official art, he just used it for the tweet. I’m excited for 2021!

And the point being that he should have said it was fake, because it's misleading otherwise...Tweets like that get posted around, and people interpret it to be the official cover (much like what the OP did here). It's common courtesy to also give credit to the person who made the mock-up to begin with.

The artwork is fake, but the news itself is likely real.

Because Blu-ray covers are shorter, compared to DVD, usually you see studios adding a bit of additional content to the sides to retain the same top and bottom information. Sometimes they're rearrange the position of items or characters to make them fit too. It is a bit strange to see it cropped.

This is great news (if true) but wouldn’t it be doubly great if the Fleisher cartoons were included in 1080p?

Yep, and if the same image gets used I'd imagine Superman's feet won't be cut off and we'll see a bit more content added to the sides (zoom out). I'm curious to see what the disc count will be once it does officially get released.

I'd take these first, if I had to choose. The historical value tips the scales for me.
