Pretty sure it’ll be Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s/Philosopher’s Stone. I’ve got the VHS, DVD, HD-DVD, multiple Blu-ray versions (I think 3 not including the one included in the 4K set) and 4K UHD.

Probably the original Straw Dogs. One VHS and 2 Blu-ray's. Rented the DVD once. I currently don't own any single movie in VHS, DVD and Blu-ray.

Oh yeah, also both versions of Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, with 4K to come in December. Probably a few others if I thought about it.

I have these two DVDs:

And this Blu-ray:

And I put them all together in a 3 disc case from The Pink Panther 2 that I got at Dollar Tree:

I also think The Amazing Transparent Man is in everyone of those 50 movie box sets.
[Show spoiler]

I'm joking, but it is in a lot of them!

I probably own several different versions of the Dark Knight I think 3-4. Currently I have 4 versions of Star Wars Episodes 1-6. I own the blu-ray steelbooks, the Zavvi 4k steelbooks(waiting for Revenge of the Sith to arrive), and the first digibook release of 1-6, I still own the unaltered versions of the dvds of 1-3 that came in metal tin, I also owned them on VHS.

I own like 4 versions of Coco. The Target exclusive, the 3d steelbook, the 4k version, and blu-fans steelbook.

Blazing Saddles - VHS (TV Recording), 2x DVD, HD-DVD, 2x Blu-ray (I'll buy 4K if it is ever released

It's not my favorite film it just keeps getting improved with each release except for the Blu-ray which I only have 2 of because 1 came in a set but I already had the single release.

On BD seems to be Escape from NY bizarrely.
Overall it's probably something like the original Star Wars Trilogy, have many VHS variations over the years, Original P&S rental tapes, "All Time Greats" P&S tapes, first Widescreen tapes, Remastered Widescreen, THX Remastered Widescreen, Executor Tin set, Special Edition Widescreen boxset. The 2004 DVD set, the 2006 GOUT DVD Editions. Only bought it once on BD in the Darth Vader set. Tired of collecting SW until the Theatrical Cuts make an appearance TBH. Content playing 4K77 etc now.

Two, usually by accident or for a completely different version.

Examples
Predator
Predator 3D after I bought a 3D TV

Maleficent

Maleficent 3D

A couple of movies that I forgot that I bought (Reign of Fire)

Upgraded a handful of movies to blu-ray when the deal was too good to pass up.

By no small margin I own the most copies of "Can't Hardly Wait". A total of 6.

2 version of the blu-ray:
-Canadian release
-15th anniversary edition

3 dvd copies
-1 original dvd release
-2 walmart 5 solar bin purchases (was in college and left one copy at home).

And finally, years ago when I and a roommate were drinking heavily one night we found out it was no longer on netflix and instead of just going to my room to grab go through some plastic drawers to find the movie (was living in an apartment at the time), I decided it was worth paying Vudu $15 dollars or something for a digital version to watch immediately.

But it's also my favorite movie so can't really complain about it.

well, apparently my limit (so far) is 4:

Ghostbusters 1 & 2: 4 copies
* original individual DVD releases (original and sequel from 1999
* 2005 green-slime combo DVD release with book with slightly different bonus features
* 2014 4K remaster Blu-Ray in digibook
* 2019 4K steelbook edition, which has different bonus features & a bonus disc

Serenity (2005): 4 copies
* original DVD
* 2007 special editon DVD
* 2013 steelbook
* 2017 4K UHD w/ Blu

Star Wars original Trilogy: 4 sets
* 1995 THX Widescreen Edition VHS box set (which replaced an earlier set of VHS copies)
* a bootleg DVD set I got circa 2005 of 4-5-6 laserdisc versions, which is effectively the same as the "unaltered" editions (next)
* 2008 Star Wars Trilogy boxed set of the 2006 limited edition "unaltered" releases, which includes the original Theatrical editions with the Special Editions
* 2015 reissue of Complete Saga Blu-Ray set

probably half of my blu-ray collection is stuff I previously owned on DVD. Only kept about a half-dozen of the replaced DVDs and then only because of missing bonus features.

over my life time it would be John Carpenter's Halloween. Had about 3-4 on vhs tape back in the day, two on DVD and two on Blu ray. Halloween was the first film I ever owned on vhs.

I don't think I've ever owned more than 3 copies of the same film, and there's a few films that applies to. Just some examples:

Bride of Frankenstein - Universal Monsters set, Frankenstein set, steelbook
The Matrix - trilogy set, steelbook, 4k
Star Wars: The Last Jedi - Resistance slipcover, First Order slipcover, 4k
