Well, I'll have to give this movie 0 stars. Surprised it is an MGM movie. Has anyone found anything about this movie that they like? Looks like a total amateur job. Bad acting through out and stupid story.

Funny enough, it was a co-production with Vestron (who released it overseas).

But it has Alison Booby errr Doody in it. She's worth at least 1 point (or 2 )

I watched this over the weekend - I was enjoying it but the ending was ultimately very unsatisfying. Maybe the distributor cut it?

No it doesn't. You're thinking of the oversized strip-club dancer. She's nothing to see.

And that Remington Steele dude sounds really creepy when he raises his voice. He hasn't done that in any other movies.

I sent this stupid movie back to Amazon.

Got this during one of Kino's recent sales and just watched it yesterday.

Has its good points and bad. Brosnan's performance is mostly on point but he certainly could have used some more direction and an extra take or two here and there. There's some fun fisticuffs action early on in the film but very little afterward. It turns into a less energetic version of Seagal's Fire Down Below. I enjoyed all the Irish supporting actors doing their best with routine material and the Celtic music throughout. Can't beat those landscapes of Ireland either.

An OK crime thriller at best honestly but not a total loss. Oh and the transfer is gorgeous! Film looks and sounds fantastic.

its bland as f, but inoffensive, and the irish actors are likeable for the most part, and Alison Doody, shes a star, and actually, Pierce is too.

the BR is fine though only has a few trailers as extras, it does have eng subs.

It is a hard movie to recommend as action movies go its pretty bad, but its a bit more than that, or at least it tries. The actors have good chemistry, it really is a movie about the actors because the plot is quite silly.

For me a 5/10

I had a ball watching this movie. It's one of Brosnan's best. And it looks fantastic on blu-ray. A bit of a time capsule of Ireland in 1987.

I have a bunch of movies that I bought for no other reason than as ways to "walk around" in a particular time/place for a while. It's nice if they're good movies, but I'm ok if they're not. It's all about remembering a place that no longer exists.

An enjoyable film all round.

Brosnan has one great line delivery in particular and there is also one of the more unheralded movie car chases.

I thought it was pretty 'meh'. I liked Brosnan and Alison Doody was hot (funnily enough she's worked with three Bonds, same as John Rhys-Davies) but if you're looking for post-Remington Steele pre-Bond Pierce Brosnan movies, there's better out there. The Fourth Protocol comes to mind

hehe, it really is enjoyable to watch a movie like its one of those walking tours you can find on youtube, but from the past.

One of the greatest things movies have is this ability to be time capsules of a place and time, even people. Ive enjoyed plenty of awful movies just for this, instead of focusing on the plot or acting or anything film related, I focus on things as simple as to how a house was decorated back then, how the streets looked, how people dressed, what you could find in a grocery store.

yeah, agreed, the fourth protocol isn't available on BR IIRC, other than a french edition, but Im saving for a good BR or even 4k release, one can dream

Yeah! Lots of 'oooh, I remember that.'. I know a movie that has the microwave we had when I was a kid. There's a different movie with the flexible nozzle thing on the kitchen sink we had back then, etc. Even down to brands on the aisles in grocery stores, just like you said.

Weird. I thought I was the only one that did this.
