SUMMARY: American student in zoology, Jane Chase persuades Dr. Steven Phillip to hire her during the summer holidays as an assistant in the vast Victorian-style mansion where he lives alone, at the foot of a cliff in the north of England. If he teaches at the University of Sciences in London, the anthropologist also works in secret on the famous missing link between Man and ape. Once there, Jane meets the Imp and Voodoo chimpanzees, and the intriguing Link, an orangutan dressed in a butler's livery. One day, she learns by chance that Phillip plans to sell Link and Voodoo. Shortly after, he disappears. Jane then tries to leave the house, but Link prevents her… and holds her prisoner.
ABOUT THE FILM: Special jury prize at the 1986 Avoriaz Festival, Link is a unique thriller in which Richard Franklin (Patrick, Psychosis 2) successfully mixes suspense, humor, animal aggression, psychology and fantasy, until its breathtaking final, close to the slasher . In this suffocating camera, we will remember the performances of Terence Stamp (The Obsessed, Theorem), Elisabeth Shue (Back to the future 2 and 3) and, of course, Locke the orangutan, absolutely astounding. All punctuated by a formidable musical score composed by Jerry Goldsmith.
