This is to good to be true!! I really hope the extended twinkle will be made english friendly audiowise somehow...

Ah yes. I remember when films were cut like that. Wasn’t the Breathless remake also cut when Gere breaks into the car?

As I recall, more of the scene made it into HKL's promo trailer than the actual feature on the DVD!

That transfer was also heavily matted to 2:1 for some reason.

I've not seen these, but anything with Sammo is worth a blind buy.

Definitely the best approach to watching these films... More often than not these have been pushed as Jackie Chan starring films, but Sammo is definitely the lead. And even he occasionally takes a back seat to the other "Lucky Stars". Basically comedies with martial arts as opposed to Jackie's style of martial arts with comedy.

Also, we were leaning towards calling this the "Lucky Stars trilogy", but considering Winners and Sinners was more of a test run not connected to MLS and TTLS (and that the Lucky Stars films span past Twinkle), the current title seemed to work better.

The Extended Cut is Mandarin only.

I hope both of the newer dubs for My Lucky Stars are included. Those have surprisingly wildly different scripts.

Oh my! I come home from an awful day at work and I'm greeted with this fantastic news!

Admittedly not all of the comedy works for me, but the action in these is often just as incredible as in many of Chan and Hung's more popular films.

WINNERS AND SINNERS is one of the funniest films I've ever seen. The sequels aren't at that level but they're still fun.

23 years ago I bought a vhs of Winners & sinners for some of my hard earned summer-job money, one of my first JC movies acutally. The cover showed a big picture of Jackie and the text on both the front and back hailed it as one of his absolute best movies. And a brief fight scene from it was shown in that Bruce Lee documentary i had just seen, and it looked awesome.
But there I sat, confused, wondering when Jackie was going to show up on screen. And who were those other guys?! Who's that fat guy?! I felt totally ripped off!

But time flows like a river and I've grown to love all three movies over the years. Great action(Pepsi factory ftw!), great slap-stick, Sammo singing, Cherie Chung, and all those strangers now feels like old friends. Jackies extended cameos are just icing on the cake.

I'm glad we're getting some more 'modern' martial arts movies, I do enjoy the Kung Fu ones but for me these 80's present time ones are really the ones I want to see released.

So many great films with fantastic performers and inspired choreography by the likes of Sammo Hung, Cory Yuen and Yuen Woo Ping.

Please let next year be the start of this trend.
