Lego Stars Wars Holiday Special - 1/2

I can't be too harsh on it; it's a silly, harmless bit of fun that pokes fun at every era of Star Wars, with some good quips and references here and there and even some great recreations of iconic scenes. Unfortunately, it's not particularly funny or entertaining, and I wish it had poked more fun at the infamous film it takes it's name from, but I suppose those jokes would probably be lost on kids watching.

Seems like putting Margret Lockwood on a train was a bit of a cottage industry back in the first half of the 20th century. Thanks for the recommendation, kingdoxie. I still prefer The Lady Vanishes, but this was quite good.

I prefer The Lady Vanishes as well, but I thought Charters and Caldicott were better in this one.

Black Christmas (2019) (First-time viewing)


I have a hard time understanding this one. This is a Twitter movie, someone literally thought that making a movie for the "eternally online" Twitter crowd was a good thing to do. They didn't try to make it a good movie, because it's really bad in that regard as well. Imogen Poots' character was literally the only good thing about it, and even then once

[Show spoiler]the black goo black magic subplot was stupidly introduced way late into the film, and her character was all "F*ck the police they didn't believe me about my rape so they won't believe this, I'm going to save the day!"

part happened completely out of character I was done with her and I checked out of the film itself. And do I need to mention that it was PG-13? A basically bloodless slasher film?

Yikes. This makes the '06 remake look like the original, both of which I'm going to be watching this month. But this 2019 version gets one star from me.
