There have been more obscure shows that received remasters (albeit some DNRed to death), but at least we got the OVAs and movie released on Blu.

Honestly, I've given up on the idea of the TV series getting re-released at this point. Part of me regrets not picking up the three season box sets, but they were rather pricey for me back then especially since I already owned the DVDs with the canon episodes.

Edit: I just did an eBay search and am surprised how affordable the full series is. $50 for everything isn't so bad. Hmm...
Good old Suncoast.

Also got my Kenshin singles from them for $30 a pop but 100% worth it in retrospect.

As far as the license goes I would think Discotek would probably be the only company that would decide to license it (basing this on their release of Angel Cop) if Aniplex were to make the property available. Not sure what materials there are for the TV series but a solid SD BD release would go a long way in my book.

I think Funimation would want it. They've got the live action films and have the original streaming via their Aniplex partnership.

I'm not so sure about that. They are a risk averse mainstream company and as such it would be in their best interest to pass on something controversial that would potentially give them bad press; especially in today's environment. I'm pretty sure they licensed the movies before the controversy came to light.

I love Samurai X. The music just flows so well with the story and animation. I'm also surprised this doesn't have a release in the US.

Huh I check Funi everyday and it had it under today's new releases, maybe they added it in a new language dub or something

The Sony dub needs to be removed from existence
