They've had a Universal deal for a couple of years now but mostly have been releasing titles that are already on Blu-ray (The Rundown, Your Highness, The Thing 2011).

I guess I didn't realize it because I have no interest in any of those titles and/or releases. This and the Cowboy Way are the first two releases I've noticed that were licensed from Universal.

Of course it is the entire movie, Universal is not licensing out clips.

Of course. I just can't recall if I watched the entire movie back in the day when most people were watching movies over the air on tv or renting from the local video store. It was kind of tough to catch movies as they started unless you programmed your vcr or scheduled your viewing ahead of time with the TV Guide listings.

Judging by the review, the compression is fine, but it's a typical older Universal master with EE and DNR. Can't really blame Mill Creek, it's not like this was going to get a new transfer anyway...

Yeah, my primary concern was if they messed up the encode which it seems like they didn't. EE and DNR are pretty much expected from a lot of the Universal releases, so I can deal with that.

My copy arrived over the weekend. Pleasantly surprised that this looked better than I was expecting considering the horrendous compression issues on recent MC offerings. This is a typical dated universal master but it looks good enough, for the price.
