Looks like the Shout Factory Collectors Edition release is the one to get. It has all the features of the special edition DVD (commentary, deleted scene, alt. ending).
The car chase is one of the very best and ranks up there with Bullitt, The French Connection and The Seven Ups. |

Oh, and To Live and Die in L.A. is great, with William Petersen's best performance. |

Heard it was some bad stuff. Can't remember what it was though. Maybe I'm just making it up in my head too. I really didn't know he existed till he was on CSI, to which I didn't like either. So he's not exactly hot on my actor list either. He did great in TLaDILA though. |

Terrific film, one of the best of the '80s and my favorite Friedkin. Loved it since first renting it on VHS in '86 and recall buying the soundtrack (on vinyl, natch) immediately afterwards.
Though I'd first seen THE HUNGER when it debuted on cable in '84, I had to let out a laugh many years later seeing it again in the '90s and immediately recognizing TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A. adversaries Willem Dafoe and John Pankow in a brief scene as two aggressive New Yorkers hassling Susan Sarandon to get off a pay phone! ![]() |

A favorite of mine, totally in the Miami Vice vein of things. Also, you gotta give kudos to Dean Stockwell's sleazy lawyer, he absolutely nailed it.
Ive been trying to get the cast to sign a poster of this, only have Stockwell so far, he lives out here in Taos, NM. |

Still one of those confusing endings William does. Okay now who's in the truck.... Flashbacks sure but the truck is confusing and John T's character what did Chance need help with. Some plot holes towards the end. Makes for one major confusing ending.. But that's William
