One of the most heartbreaking movies I've seen in a long time. This gets my highest recommendation.

If one cries just from watching the trailer, it is bound to be an emotional film. I absolutely cannot wait to see this one! Does anyone know if Mubi Blu-rays tend to be playable in regions A and C, or if they are generally locked to B?

The only confirmed Blu-ray release at this point is the one from MUBI. Unfortunately, a representative there confirmed that it is locked to Region B.

"Hello Nathan,

Thank you for contacting MUBI Support!

I can confirm that the blu-ray will be region locked for Region B. I'll ask about your second question and let you know when I have an update.

best,

Is there any additional information from A24 regarding a Region A release? The packaging from MUBI looks really nice.

There is a Blu ray released here in Belgium too.

Don't know if it's region free though.

Hmmmm, I can't seem to find any information about that release (including region locking), but it seems to be similar to the French release and upcoming German release.

I'll try to get some more info about it when I get to the store.
Going to pick up Babylon anyway.

At this point, I'm feeling certain it will be an A24 shop release by the end of summer. Most A24 movies get their Blu releases announced within the second week of their theatrical releases; when they take longer, as "Aftersun" and "Marcel the Shell" did, that's the indicator that it will be via the shop.

A shop-release would be fine with me. I have contacted A24 to see if I can get any details, and will post here when I get a response.

Thank you, Boccaccio, for helping find some information about the Belgian release.

Unfortunately, I received a very generic "we have no information regarding a Blu-ray release of Close at this time" response from A24.

Have you tested it ? Just checked in the store and the back says region B.

And only Dutch/French subtitles so not English friendly either.

It looks like an Italian version was released today, but it only has French and Italian audio (dubbing) with Italian subtitles:

https://www.amazon.it/Close-Blu-ray/dp/B0BW11DK6P

I may just pre-order the MUBI release from the UK. Ultimately I will want the Region B copy anyway.
