That's been the issue with post-"Inception" Nolan. He's still made some incredible work, but his writing feels so condescending and phoned in, plus the psychotic fanbase.

You can like it you can dislike it, so people shouldn't be angry over other people having different opinion lol. I think these people are just too focused on this, and that's way too far, especially for a review.

I disagree with your opinion on Nolan but no way i am going to bash, insult or complain about that. It doesn't bother me, neither it affects me liking his films. There's a difference between a fan and a fanatic.

There have been some cases with other fanbases being harsh and aggressive toward critics or the famous Taxi Driver incident, so don't blame that on Nolan but only on a few fans who went mad.

I don’t blame anyone’s behaviour on Nolan, but I do hold him accountable for defending their threats.

Great, so he's the Donald Trump of filmmakers when it comes to his fanbase. Never thought I'd say that.

As a former Nolan-ite I feel like Dark Knight Rises was the breakthrough for me that while I enjoyed these movies I had a whole lot of issues with them. His Dark Knight Trilogy in particular, though I loved it at the time it fails to leave the impression that Burton's films did and he seems to understand the titular character about as well as the writers of the 60s tv show did.

In ranking his films... (just realized now Tenet is my least favorite)

1. Inception (don't think this is as well made as The Prestige but that ending..)
2. The Prestige (not just a phenomenal cast but a fascinating character study)
3. Memento (A breakthrough for me for what a film could accomplish)
4. The Dark Knight (though not amazing, Ledger and a great score make it worth it)
5. Following (A fascinating meta-commentary on storytelling)
6. Batman Begins (a well-made movie even if it botches the essence of Batman)
7. Interstellar (Nolan starting to slip, though he holds onto the emotion here)
8. Dunkirk (an economically well-shot film, great score)
9. The Dark Knight Rises (well shot and scored but wow, a fundamental misunderstanding of what makes Batman interesting)
10. Tenet (like an emotionless magic trick, so far gone from early Nolan)
11. Insomnia (not a bad movie but the original being great, this felt pointless)

10/10 - The Prestige
I think The Prestige is his only perfect film. Every twist and turn was earned and well executed. Great acting and writing.

9/10 - Batman Begins & Dunkirk
Batman Begins is nearly flawless. A damn near perfect Batman film. Dunkirk benefits from minimal dialogue. If you take Nolans bad writing out of the equation he is a master.

8/10 - Tenet & Memento
Brilliantly made and acted films, but held back by some shoddy writing.

7/10 - The Dark Knight Rises
Woefully underrated and a solid ending to the trilogy.

6/10 - Inception
Exposition: The Movie. Well acted and directed but again Nolans writing bites him in the ass.

5/10 - The Dark Knight & Interstellar
The Dark Knight benefits so much from Heath Ledger, people ignore the downright horrid dialogue, poor editing and fundamental filmmaking errors. Interstellar could have been incredible but ended up being nothing more than a decent Twilight Zone episode.

I don't think that's what happened, and it represents one or two people who got mad not all Batman fans.

Just saying that Burton admitted to never reading comics, had Batman being a side character and someone who kills without hesitation and there was no character arc in his two movies.
