Wonder what the release date will be? Hoping by end of March or early April.

I saw these temporary 4K Blu-Rays covers for Ice Age, Robots, and The Abyss somewhere.

God, I hope they don't Atmouse this audio track. Of course, odds are not good in Vegas.

I wonder if it will be released in the US, Australia and UK within the same week or weather it will be back to normal and waiting 4/5 weeks for it to hit our stores.

Very good movie. I'm in for the 4K. A Steelbook would be nice.

Real shame we'll probably never get the first 4 Pirates movies to complete the franchise.

I hope The Madalorian gets a release but it shouldn't be a big surprise if Disney doesn't do a physical release for something that was always intended to sell their streaming service.

Me having them in 4K on iTunes is the next best thing, and I don't mind it.

They did refuse The Empty Man a physical release beyond a DVD exclusive to Redbox, so all of y’all clamoring for Antlers better go see the shit outta that before Disney chucks that to the ether too

Disney's bad about announcing stuff the past few years though, some stuff isn't officially announced until up to 2 weeks before release date.

With Disney's terrible re-release themes, I'd be happier not having a slipcover for it. Onward just didn't get one because of supply issues most likely as it was early lockdown and everything was up in the air. If it had came out now, or even by August, it most likely would've had one for the standard version as well.

4k did have slip.
It was a very good one.
But no blu-ray slips anywhere.
Online ordering only maybe?

Something came out in the past 6ish month and I went to Target and they didn't have a slipcover so I went to Best Buy in the same shopping center and they did. So slipcovers are YMMV even less than a mile apart.

I think catalog titles will be released if and when they have a reason to do it and it ties into something, but no more random releases just to do them... which is a shame, Disney knows people will buy most of anything they release.

And it's a TV show to boot, and we all know Disney stopped supporting TV on BD a long time ago, they barely even support them on DVD.

When Soul was marked as a D+ Original I didn't think it'd get a physical release as none of the others have, so it's a nice surprise. I guess since it wasn't made specifically for D+ and only premiered there due to COVID related stuff probably helped. I wish I liked it more so I could throw my money/support behind it, but I just couldn't get into the story that much and don't think I'd ever want to rewatch it.

Soul is the first ever Disney+ Original to get a home media release but it's no doubt because it was never made for Disney+. It was still even released in theatres in some regions like China, literally the only way the 3D version was ever seen since they seem done with Blu-ray 3D in the UK now too.

They would have had discs done ready to go. But it does beg the question, why on earth haven't Artemis Fowl or The One and Only Ivan been released on home media? Whatever you think of them as movies they were always made for theaters and Artemis was still being promoted for them even after the pandemic was declared.

Then where the hell is Resistance? The launch of Disney+ has seen them give up entirely on releasing TV series on home media.

Lucasfilm was their only company whose series were consistently released on not just home media but also Blu-ray. Resistance season 1 was only released on DVD after The Clone Wars' 6th season and all 4 seasons of Rebels were released on Blu-ray. Its Australian release occurred nearly a year later and there's been no release in the UK to date as far as I can tell. There is also nothing to suggest a release for the second season either despite it being made for and premiering as normal on Disney Channel.

The Mandalorian has arguably carried Disney+ up until now, and it wouldn't make sense for Disney to release it on home media in my opinion. Marvel Studios head, Kevin Feige also said recently he honestly has no idea if Disney+ Original series will ever be released on home media.

Thing is Soul was never ment to be on Disney Plus to begin with. Its a theatrical movie put on Disney plus because of covid. There was always gonna be a physical releases of this. Yes Artemis Fowl was also intended to be a theatrical movie too but given how poorly it was recived no wonder there's been no releases of that were a Soul will have been in the planning stages for a.release for a while now. Plus Soul is a Pixar Brand and that makes money for Disney.
