High profile or not you still get it the same day regardless of when you preorder, so what does it matter?

I'm sure amazon waits until they get an official list from their distributor and then post that information. The other site probably just made up a listing based off of the release date and standard MSRP for warner blus.

I've found a few other random movie sites that have it for pre-order. But Sleeping beauty is up for pre-order now and that comes out Oct. 7

WB needs to get there ess aych eye tee together.

They're right, I checked and it's on a pre-order embargo for another week or so

I again question why it matters, since it's not out until late march, and it doesn't matter if you have it in now or the day before.

Pre-order embargo? Where does one find out such information?

I wonder if WB is experiencing delays in MFG and are currently unsure they can distribute by March 18. I wouldn't be surprised to hear I am Legend has been pushed back.

Time will tell.

So, there has been some frustration with the fact that "I Am Legend" has not been set for pre-sale by Wb yet. This wholr thing with Toshiba over the last few days made me think. One of the articles (The Wall Street Journal, I think) said that Wal-mart and Netflix both knew of Toshiba's decission before they made the announcements to stop supporting HD-DVD, so what's to stop me from believing that Toshiba told other companies on the down low as well?

Maybe Warner Bros. already knew this would happen and they were waiting on pre-selling "I Am Legend" so they would not have to release it on HD-DVD? Maybe they figured they could wait until the announcement and then make the movie available for pre-sale only on Blu-ray?

Just a thought...

I remember that 300 was not available for preorder until there was like 14 days remaining before its release date. I am sure that your comments regarding the recent developments, and a possible cancellation of the HD DVd version are valid.

That is true. 300 did not go up for pre-order until shortly before it was actually released. Is the DVD up for pre-order?

Just checked. No DVD either.

Because WB embargoes pre-orders untill 4-6 weeks before it launches. I still don't understand why people get so worried about pre-ordering. It's not like they're going to run out of a blockbuster like that

It's not just Amazon that hasn't put it up for pre-order. Warner's own website hasn't even put it up for pre-order yet.
