It's curious that Koch didn't have English subs on both, though not as curious as the attitude to period detail in the 1976 version: I can understand the use of modern hardware and battleships, but the Anglo extras dressed like Jake and Elwood Blues and driving 70s Fords made me think the title sequence was meant to be 1970s until the bombs started to fall. There are also howlers like a Nazi swastika armband being the wrong way round.

The blu-ray actually looks amazingly good... very glad to have picked this up, even though I've mixed feelings about the movie itself.

So I tried this in my locked Region A player and after hitting “Disc Menu” three or four times it went to the menu and let me play it. Not a big deal because there’s a Region A release, but I thought I’d let everyone know.

Does anyone know if the US release is 1080p/24fps?

both the movie and the blu-ray were a let down. the fact that I did not like the movie as much as hoped may have to do with the blu-ray.

not sure if it is due to the 24/25 fps but something was off on my oled. mainly during panning shots there was some kind of stutter. strange that no one has mentioned this before

I'd have to dig it out, but the Blu-ray should be 24fps, as it's the same length as the film. A PAL DVD would be 25fps, so approx 4% shorter.

Just a shame it's 2.39:1 at home, and not 2.11:1 as per the IMAX version. I don't know why they would short-change us like that. It's not like you can just rock up at your local IMAX and they're showing the film all the time(!)
