Richard Jewell was probably his best directorial effort since Unforgiven. Such a good film.

I cannot think of another movie star who has achieved so much.
Amen to that!

So wonderful to see so many positive posts on the great man.

Let's hope he continues well into his 90's and beyond. His mother lived to 97, so that's a good sign.

I too will be a blubbering mess when he passes... yet it seems odd to feel devastated since he lived a long fruitful life leaving behind a vast legacy. He'll be celebrated for certain... Scott Eastwood needs to step up his game, carry on the quality of his father.
Have to agree, I never cared for John Wayne either, way too puritanical and goody goody. His westerns were nothing like real life, whereas Eastwood's brand was far more realistic, ditto many other westerns from Leone.

As for Scott, I'm not really sure he has the acting chops. He certainly has the looks needed.

He should retire from filmmaking, he's nearly 91, for god's sake.

Why? If he's in good health (which he is from what I've read) and has got ideas, he should continue to go for it!

I agree. If that’s what he likes doing, then why would he need to stop? If anybody doesn’t like his movies, they can always choose to simply not watch them.

And he just directed himself into two twosomes with twenty-somethings in The Mule! Go Clint!
