Thanks. I was hoping maybe they had an option for UPS or different pricing tiers.

I've been keeping an eye on their twitter for release date announcements/updates and 2 things have caught my eye:

-2 Days Ago: "We thank @LaPosteBusiness who decided to close our bank account without telling us why and why we never had overdrafts and that we always had money in our account. A big thank you to them..."

-2 Weeks Ago, in reference to Bacchaneles Sexuelles : "It's hard to finish this UHD by Jean Rollin. Due to a small error we have to encode everything again ... en route for 72 hours of encoding."

Might be nothing but......possible delays incoming? Seems like banking/payment issues and problems finishing the UHD could lead to delays.

They've said on Facebook they'll be receiving their July releases all along the month, so I'm not sure if there'll be any delays for the customers or if the issues are solely a hassle on the label's side.

Don't know if this will apply to all of this month's pre-orders, but I've had a confirmation that mine (Clash & Dr Orloff) has been dispatched, so it looks like they're getting through things now.

it seems like the whole staff are taking a weeks holiday in about a fortnight, so I'd guess that they're going to want to get as much out as possible before then, so hopefully peeps shouldn't have too much longer to wait

This will probably come too late for most because my parcel was held up by a week by our loving postal service, but the booklet that comes with Clash (and so I would guess also booklets for their other new releases) is a very strange size.
The digipack is the usual DVD case height, but the booklet is taller and wider still, meaning that there is no possible way to fit it into the packaging for 'safe keeping'.
Given that I know some people stress about their shelves looking uniform, this might cause a few minor breakdowns!

Just got this email about Bacchanales Sexuelles:

Quote:
We have already sent out a lot of preorders but unfortunately due to the holidays our presser will deliver BACCHANALES SEXUELLES to us not on July 21 as planned but on August 3.
We are sorry for this little delay.
If you are on vacation from August 3rd we can send you your order later. Just write to us.

Bonne journée et bonne vacances !

Stéphane & Philippe

Anyone get a shipping notification?

Was hoping today would be the day after the 2 week delay.

I don't know if this will still be distributed as a digipack, but a couple of years ago the great folks at Le Chat issued the last movie by Cattet&Forzani, Laissez bronzer les cadavres, which is another experimental beast of modern cinema looking into the glorious past of European cinema-bis, like this...

The review's words of this are in Spanish (my language), sorry, although the pics are international.

Can't wait for Link. I hope it's English friendly with the stereo track and the longer cut in HD.

How's everyone tracking looking like?

Mine was dispatched and 'taken in' by the Postal Service (La Poste) on August 5th, 8 days ago, but not a single update to the tracking since then.

I was hoping for $30 shipping it'd be a relatively fast one.

My first time ordering from France but Germany/UK orders usually at least show significant updates every time.

Are you tracking through the La Poste or the USPS? My tracking through the USPS first shows it was accepted on the 6th but has further tracking since it's entered the US, expected delivery is Monday the 16th for me.

Good idea hadn't thought of checking USPS, I was only checking La Poste. It hasn't updated either yet on USPS since France on August 8th but maybe that'll be the first place it updates when it gets to the US.

Thanks

I'm going to check the shipping options to Colombia, but I'm scared of what that could cost

BTW, this gets my vote for best name for a boutique label, the cat that smokes is brilliant, and the logo is adorable

Le Chat Qui Fume posted an interesting teaser on twitter:

The text roughly says "It's time to see what's going on in far-away places..."

French-Canadian release(s) incoming maybe? Although I'm struggling to think what Quebec movies fit their catalogue. Maybe some Denys Arcand? Regardless, extremely excited for this. I've always wanted more 1960s-1980s Quebec films on bluray.

It'll be interesting to see what the clue (with picture) is hinting at. Would be good to see some more Canadian films get Blu-ray releases (especially horror films). One of this label's releases I still haven't got yet (Knife Under the Throat).

Jean-Claude Lauzon's Night Zoo or Leolo, perhaps?

Those would both be amazing. My Holy Grail of Quebec titles I want on bluray is Jesus of Montreal. Feels like an unlikely pick for Le Chat Qui Fume though. Maelstrom would be second (even more unlikely), and Leolo third.

Yeah, Arcand seems like an unlikely pick for LCQF. As do Jean-Pierre Lefebvre and Claude Jutra (who is so cancelled that I very much doubt anyone releases any of his films ever again) for that matter.

Lauzon seems most likely to me; Maelstrom would be nice if they got it though.
