Default I'm Going to Do a PP, too!

In my reading class, we were reading editorials. I'm only in middle school, so we're doing some easy s***. Anyway, our teacher told us that we were going to do something like it, but we could do it in any format (PP, typed report, etc), and on anything we wanted. I'm signed up to do mine on the format war, and I'm going to strongly support Blu-ray.

I told them basically their HD-DVD players were paperweights
College in the british sense or American? If American, what kind of institution would allow the students to make a presentation on anything?

Its American, and it was for encouragement on basically standing up in front of your class and talk about something your comfortable talking about. Its a great tool to break ice with your fellow classmates.

In a history class full of adults? This sounds like maybe something a professor would allow in a speech class but history? How is it breaking the ice if it's a presentation and not an open discussion?

Which american higher-education institution is this?

Its American History to 1877, and he did it to basically see how we can research and explain our specific topics. It was only 2 minutes long, he gonna give us a research paper, so he decided to give us a nice assignment. Its a college, not a junior college. And its not the college who did this, it was the teacher, in America teachers use different methods than the whole read your book and study study study and then HUGE test method

do we really need to bash the american educational system? Professors can do whatever they want! When I was in college I did a 10 minute presentation, in my sociology class, about the production of newspapers...

professors dont need a rhyme or reason to assign what they do!

lol, this reminds me of my freshman year in college for a speech class. I went over movie quotes and how they were good ice breakers.

It's not the material, but rather how the subject is written, thought out, and presented that is important.

Very few classes have that many students, many, depending on the school, will have anywhere from 20-40. 100+ is reserved for General Education Classes and Weedout courses.
