Looks like this will be on Paramount+ on November 19.

Hope Dick Carruthers isn't doing the ADHD job he did on Mumford South Africa - does he think he is directing a Bourne movie?

Anyway, the documentary and both shows on a single BD? I'm not hopeful the PQ is going to be great.

Gigs look great, and considering the age are most likely upscales, as HD wasn’t about in 96.

I just finished watching it. I obviously liked it, being a huge Oasis fan.

I think the introduction is really well done. It builds up the tension and excitement from the announcement of the gig, the rush to purchase tickets, getting to the venue, waiting in line, etc. The film recreates some of these moments with actors, but it did have an authentic flavor.

That being said, I was really hoping this would be a concert with some interviews between songs, but it's the other way around. I think only 8 or so songs were played in their entirety, and every one of these songs features commentary over the tracks, which often makes it distracting. Obviously it's really cool to hear people reminisce about being there and how certain songs had a profound impact on them, but I'd rather hear that before or after the songs, or even during the instrumental portions of the songs, and not when Liam or Noel are singing. For example, during "The Masterplan", a woman recalls how her and her brother went to the concert together and how it was one of the last things they enjoyed themselves together because he was diagnosed with cancer six months later.

Songs like "Round Are Way", "My Big Mouth", and "Whatever" are played over archival footage and most of the songs are cut short. Only one verse for "Supersonic" and a couple others. And most of the songs aren't even played in order of the setlist. Night one ends with "Live Forever", night two ends with "I Am the Walrus", and then the film ends with footage of "Wonderwall".

There are so many scenes. It's so distracting.

Liam remastered, Liam with fuzzy effect, Noel fuzzy effect, crowd fuzzy effect, Noel regular, Liam fuzzy effect. All in 0.5 seconds.

No excuse for anyone not to watch this now.

Thanks for all that Scottie

I canceled my preorder. I just wanted a live show. All that talking over and cut songs is distracting and I really don’t enjoy live music discs like that.

That’s just the “film”… both full shows are on the BD/DVD releases, so it’s the best of both worlds!

Is it still plagued with millions of rapid shots?

It has some, but nowhere near as much as the film. I think a lot of this was what was shown on the screens during the gig, with a few bits of other footage cut in. However, it’s great to have the full songs and banter in between too, with no one talking over anything!

Interestingly, the concert footage has the full lyrics to ‘Hello’ which I noticed were missing from the documentary film when I saw it at the cinema…

“Hello, hello (it's good to be back)
Hello, hello (it's good to be back)
Hello, hello (it's good to be back)
Hello, hello, hello”

Maybe licencing issues?

But film was, the 4K UHD release of INXS Wembley '91 looks fantastic. I'm sure it is pretty obvious if it is an upscale...anyone else comment on whether it looks sourced from film or upscaled video?

Ugh, that is what I was afraid of. I'll keep an eye out for a price drop then as likely it will not have replay value.

I think it's a pretty stupid decision to release a CD/DVD deluxe edition that only has the documentary and not the concerts. Who wants that? I ended up buying the regular 2CD edition + the Blu-ray.
