Guess I'll be buying it again! VHS, LD, DVD, BD, 4k! Not sure about the steelbook though. I already have the BD one and that's pretty nice.

Was not expecting this. Will happily buy one of my favorite movies of all time again. Hopefully they fix the issues on their Blu-ray edition. Light our darkest hour.

GI Joe the Movie would be cool to see too, but I hope they include the 4:3 version in something other than SD.

Looks like I'll be updating this one, but I'll get the standard release and put it in the Blu-ray steelbook case I have because I like the case better than the new steel.

absolutely, or the color space issues of their carpenter 4k's. That galvatron transformation is gonna be so good in HDR if it's all issue-free

This is a day one for me. I have loved this film since I was a kid and got to see it on the big screen, on 35mm, for my birthday many years ago.

The cover for the standard edition makes it look like Hot Rod is an evil monster destroying all the other Transformers with the power of the Matrix

Right. The color space issues on the Blu-ray shouldn't come into play, as I think that was specifically a Rec. 709 issue. But I do hope they've figured out their UHD color issues.

Pretty cool for Shout to finally get
into making 4K. I hope G.I. Joe the
movie will get a 4K release as well

Actually, Hasbro owns eOne, which means films like Dungeons and Dragons is being released in the UK in 2023 through eOne (Hasbro owns Wizards of the Coast). However, Snake Eyes is still being released worldwide through Paramount.

Ultimately, it depends on the length of the licensing agreement, presumably signed in 2016.

Not the first Funimation 4K UHD given Ghost in the Shell, Akira.

This and Rad are both 1986 American films on 4K with incredible catchy soundtracks

Day 1 buy for sure. One of my favorite movies!

I remember reading that the Blu-ray was made from a 4K source, I wasn’t expecting to actually get it on a 4K disc too.

Certainly didn't expect this one but happy to see it. Maybe not day 1 but certainly will upgrade at some point.

Since it says it's a 2 disc release I wonder if that means they're abandoning the 1.33:1 version. Still I'm hype for this one. Never would've expected it.

I'm definitely going to upgrade, but not until June 15 payday.

Memorial Day sales next weekend and Record Store Day on June 12 are going to keep me fiscally occupied until then.

The previous Blu Ray was a 2 disc release also, so I expect both aspect ratios will be present.

Yeah but it says UHD+BD. Unless they authored new discs with both on one.

I mean I don't really care about the 1.33:1 version but I am curious.
