I do like the different colored spines and the outer box is pretty clean looking too, so I actually think it would look okay on the shelf I just think the artwork on the SB's themselves are eyesores. If this ever dropped down to around $60ish, I might get it since I somehow don't own the series yet.

The only thing I like is the colored borders. The rest is ugly and boring.

I would be all over this like Kirk on an Orion woman if the episodes were newly remastered.

Star Trek was campy. I neither hate nor like the design, but it is a throwback to the era.

Regarding the steelbook format, fitting 7 discs in one of those cases doesn't sound like a joyful experience for the consumer.

Anybody who watches the first season of Star Trek in context and thinks it's Camp doesn't know what camp is

I particularly like the outer box with the Enterprise, but this seems like it'll be the same style as the cheap Indiana Jones Steelbook set with a flimsy box.

The really nice thing about the season 1 front cover is the fact that they managed to fit in all-time fan-favorite Lieutenant Farrell.

Yes it is so if that's a problem for anybody then don't order it.

It's the same kind of box that you would get with any complete series Blu-ray set that aren't SteelBooks. That outside box has the same potential to be creased or crushed as that of a non-SteelBook set.

Their Avatar Last Airbender set had a metal box, no reason their flagship franchises like Indiana Jones and Star Trek couldn't get one.

A comment from somebody who has made two posts in the last 6 months. LOL. Sock account much?

And Trelayne's demeanor is an example of the show being camp? As I said -- unaware of what camp actually is. Thanks for making it more clear than it already was.

I apologize. My bad. By the way do you think the show is an example of camp?

I think that it could be held up as an example of camp, but any sort of label that one applies to art is only as useful as where that label takes you.

Looking over Susan Sontag's 'Notes on Camp,' though, there are certainly connections that could be drawn to every iteration of STAR TREK

But I wonder if Paramount ever considered a 4k transfer from the original film negatives? but who am I kidding....Paramount hates classic trek lol.
If they did a 4k transfer I would want to have a branched version using CGI to cover up the obvious use of stuntmen, in particular when Nimoy or Kirk etc fight their duplicates. It’s bad enough on DVD, I can just imaginate in 4k
