Watched this last night and thought it looked pretty good for a Mill Creek release. Still has some compression issues, but nowhere near as bad as some of their recent input. Overall, I'd consider this a victory as you really never know what you're going to get with Mill Creek.

It's about to be a Mill Creek Halloween for me. I have this on the way with Casual Sex and Crossroads, Street Fighter Steelbook on pre-order.

Got mine, slip was beat to hell, like someone had owned this for 6 months, corners are already white/foxing, movie was sealed but disappointing. Is Mill Creek slipping or did Amazon screw me?

Was thinking about picking this one up. Anyone else seen this release yet? Duke’s review mentioned some compression issues. What’s everyone else seeing?

It's very light compared to some of their other releases, and I only really noticed because I'm always looking for it when it comes to Mill Creek releases now.

The rolicking slows down a bit in the middle, but it is a fun movie. I'm very glad Mill Creek is putting out these kind of films on bluray...

This is not a Criterion release, this is Mill Creek, so you all know what to expect. It shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. If you're look for trouble, you're going to find it. Just watch and enjoy the movie because there's nothing you can do about it anyway.

What blu-ray doesn't have some sort of a compression issue, but that's not going to stop me from enjoying the movie. I don't watch movies specifically to look for defects and imperfections because I'm not QC, and I don't get paid to do somebody else's job.

I finally got around to watching this disc. Way weirder than I remember. It's a competent movie in almost every way, I really enjoyed the stunt work and car chase scenes, some nice shoot outs too, but the movie just feels disjointed and unfocused, but not bad, just not great. Jamie Gertz character is a hilarious example, zero development, no impact on the plot
[Show spoiler]and then she's dead.
The Lakota aspect seems kind of shoehorned in, and never really feels that satisfying, almost like a gimmick to have the Spear in the movie. Maybe this just needed to be edited different, it also seemed too long, but also maybe not long enough as it felt like things were cut, it's strange. They went ham with the makeup on Lou Diamond Phillips in this, woh nelly, he looks like a pumpkin pie. Also, are those Twin Peaks sets I spot near the end? Given the shoot date of this, it would make sense. For a Mill Creek disc this is definitely a bargain and the quality is on point, no problems at all.

I watched this a few weeks ago and this is one of those good BD's from Mill Creek. The kind of good and satisfying $5 dollar dump bin kind of BD title. It's an entertaining movie imo. Good 80's film not an 80's classic but close Kiefer and Lou were excellent in it.

Yeah can't really go wrong with those two in anything, I was surprised how good the cast was, just was a shame it wasn't a tighter story

Possibly, maybe even probably, but I'm still curious, as this is exactly the type of movie that gets quietly censored for the PC whiners these days. I didn't even realize Crocodile Dundee had been censored until someone here pointed it out, and I'd actually seen that one many times back in the 80s.

The MPA's (formerly the MPAA) official site doesn't include a database of movie ratings that I could find. They do have a pointer to filmratings.com, as if they are associated, but it didn't mention going there for a ratings database, only for more info on how it works. Filmratings about us page talks more about rating movie advertising than actual movies. So, I'm not sure it can be trusted to be thorough, or updated frequently, as just in a few short searches I had difficulty finding major productions. But their search obviously needs some work.

The PS3 clocked the BD at 1hr 45min 28sec. Before this BD, which shows a runtime of 105min, past dvds appear to have always listed the time as 106min, as does IMDb. It wouldn't be the first time they just rounded up. But, not only is the back of the case misprinted as PG13, the slipcover is as well, as is the disc label. Anybody still have the previous dvd to check the time? It wouldn't matter much for my interest, having never seen the film before, but I can't help but be curious if quiet censorship is something we need to be more conscious of.

Keeping the German Blu-ray with the interesting Shoulder interview, not that it's a great looking picture but it has that nice extra.

The link I included in the post of mine you just quoted is to the listing for Renegades on the filmratings.com website, which is the MPA's official website for ratings.

If you go to that site, on the home page there is an option of Movie Rating Search. You just enter the title and that's it. It's simple and easy to use. Every movie that has been rated is in there. I just picked a random new movie coming out this week, Beast, and here is the link.

https://www.filmratings.com/Search?f...=beast&x=0&y=0

Not sure why you would be having difficulties finding anything, most likely user error.

I wasn't unappreciative or disrespectful of your previous post, so I don't know why you'd take offense and attack me just for questioning the viability of a site in timely publishing a re-rating for a decades old second-rate film that a studio very likely wouldn't even want people to know was edited, IF they actually did so. Even the most traffic-laden sites, like amazon and ebay, often take a surprisingly long time to update significant site errors, even those that have been brought to their attention by many. Where smaller sites often have intel that's out of date by years.

Of course I saw your link. How could anyone miss it, when quoting the very post it was about? Like I said, I found several issues with their search. Here's one since you apparently think it justified to question the intelligence or thoroughness of anyone who even seems like they might doubt your expertise: The sites search couldn't even find Jurassic World Dominion. It comes up when searching for Dominion or for Jurassic World, but not for any variation of the full title.

Regardless, there's nothing on their site to indicate how frequently it's updated. Just because they might make a point to stay on top of new productions that no doubt make up THE majority of queries, it's probably not wise to assume they're going to give the same priority to a decades old title recently re-released on a format barely even being monitored within the industry. Have you taken any surveys about movies or tv in the past 5 years? You'd think these survey hosts, including ones commissioned by the studios themselves, aren't even aware that physical media is still even being made. Though, more likely, they were commissioned specifically to survey and/or grow awareness of streaming specifically and occasionally more traditional broadcast customer bases that haven't switched, and they just assumed such applied to everyone because they're being written by the youngest (cheapest) kids they can buy - often for free even, as I've taken a number written by college students as part of papers they claimed to be working on.

Anyway, getting back to the question at hand. You might be satisfied or disinterested, but I don't see anything about filmratings system to qualify any absolutes. And while assuming that both the time and rating on Mill Creeks BD disc, case, and sleeve art are all in error is highly plausible, all things considered, it's still ultimately an assumption. And studios censoring older titles from this era and earlier, for the sake of the overly-sensitive political follies of today, is hardly without precedent.
