I would have voted for GB1, but Rick Moranis dressed as a Ghostbuster is the greatest. If it wasn't for Rick Moranis being a Ghostbuster, I would've gone with GB1.

But yeah, I read the Afterlife thread. For those who said there that they like the 2016 GB movie, I don't see their vote for it here.

I'd say the first, but the second is almost as good and very under-rated, so I'll give it a vote to support it.

Answer the Call is ok for what it is. But that's it.

I know the original is the best movie, but I voted for the reboot because everybody is always ****ing on it and I feel sorry for the people who worked on it.

I feel a tiny bit sorry for Leslie Jones as you could see that she was much better in the film and clearly a much better actress than people give her credit for, but the rest? They all bounced back with better work in the immediate years. Maybe you could argue a hit Ghostbusters would have launched Mckinnon to the A-list quicker, but IMO she's better off taking the scenic route by establishing her obvious dramatic talent outside of comedy. I think sooner or later she will be a major star.

I actually didn't hate GB2016, though it's easily the poorest of the three.

Jones was the loudest and least funny, which is presumably which she took a lot of the flak.

GB16 really just fumbled in the comedy department, relying too much on improv that was lil hit and lots of miss. It's still a watchable movie if you just simply discern from the original film. They could have toned down the feminist edge, and not make every male in the film an a-hole or a bizarrely idiotic hunk(Hemsworth), but it's passably entertaining.

Just look at those first three pictures and the problem with the reboot is obvious. The first two show the actors actually playing their characters. Especially in the first one, they are really invested in the reality of the story. In the third picture, the actors are making funny faces and mugging. This underlines the massive difference between SNL in its first 20 years and what came later. And the difference between how great comedy movies were into the 1990s and how bad they've become lately. There is no more discipline and restraint in comedy. The comedians are trying way too hard to be "funny" all the time, but it never works because they haven't bothered to create a structure around the comedy. If you don't create a believable premise first, you have nothing to make fun of.

Ghostbusters (1984), hands down! One of my most favorite movie. Ghostbusters 2 is a great movie sequel.

1 & 2 are amazing, have yet to see all of 3 and 4 was disposable fun. At least the second preview for 4 was better than the first preview.

Well said, comedy films today aren't funny. All they know how to do is be rude and crude. On rare occasions one gets it right, but it's very rare.

Is there anyone that couldn't correctly guess where the one vote for the 2016 film came from?
