Master Gardener (2022)

This was my first time seeing a Paul Schrader movie. There's like two different story lines in this movie and they didn't always work together. Maybe there was some metaphor between gardening and the main character's past, but I didn't get it. I liked the gardening part of the movie better, especially the journal entries that are narrated.

I haven't yet gotten around to watching it because I've been focusing on Halloween viewing for right now plus went to the new Scorsese film in the theater.

I'll get to it soon, though.

Anybody know anything about the Magnolia blu? Is it a bd-50 or a bd-25? Does it have a decent bitrate? Does it look fine encoding-wise?

Watched this on Hulu a couple of nights ago and liked it. A similar feel to Schrader's past few films.

Interesting to see Joel Edgerton's performance here after seeing him give a much different performance in Boys in the Boat just a few weeks ago. I think he's a great actor, and I'm sure it's only a matter a time before we see him getting nominated for awards.

The only thing I didn't like about the film:

[Show spoiler] It seemed at one point the characters will building towards a father / adopted daughter relationship, only for it to jump to a romantic relationship soon after.

. I think that transition could have been developed more, but I enjoyed everything else about the film.
