Eyes Without A Face

This was a first time watch for me and I really enjoyed it. Been on my watch list forever and I'm so glad I finally watched it. I was surprised by the gore in this considering it was made so long ago. Slow burn horror at its best.

Had started this one yesterday but didn't get a chance to finish it until today so it's one of the final Halloween remnants this month.

The Raven (first-time viewing)

I just finished the Bela/Boris series of the You Must Remember This podcast the other day, so I was very excited to be able to see this after hearing about it. While it's not the greatest film, it's very interesting and fun to see the two major icons of Universal's Monster Movies sharing the screen. Thanks for the recommendation, blindsidedme!

1. Halloween 3

This was my final movie from the last marathon and I watched it again on November 1 except this time I have the new 4K version. Fantastic presentation for one of my all time favorite horror movies. I bought the new 4K set for parts 1-3 and need to get into the extras soon!

2. The Breaking Point

After taking a break last month, I'm going to try and finish a mini marathon of watching my Criterion Collection. This is the newest addition to my collection. John Garfield used to just have a small boat and take people to fish but has to make some risky decisions and take on more dangerous jobs after getting into debt. Always a fan of Director Michael Curtiz.

Mortal Kombat (2021)

Wow. I had an absolute blast watching this. While I quite like the 1995 version, I would watch this version over and over again.

Where the Wild Things Are (2009)

Not-bad film version of Maurice Sendak's children's book. Young children would probably enjoy it most.

1962:

The Password is Courage ⭐⭐⭐⭐

An excellent British film about the same events depicted in The Great Escape. This film came out a year earlier in 1962 and has a lot more humor than it's American cousin.

The Deadly Mantis (1957)

Aw what's not to love. A giant bug flying around wreaking havoc, the stuff of dreams. Actually this is one of the better Creature Features from the 50's. The mantis looks pretty good for the time period and the acting was good. Thank you kingdoxie for this entertaining fun movie.

Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Gave it a 2nd try; score remains the same. Just like Dune, first 2/3rds is incredible. After Deckard enters the picture it loses steam even if that’s when the action really starts.

Freaky

Great horror comedy. Basically the premise is Freaky Friday the 13th and it is just as silly as it sounds. Never scary but the horror elements were well done and seemed like everyone had fun making this one. Same director/writer of Happy Death Day, which is another good horror comedy. Thanks to jd_from_da_80s for the recommendation.

Recently gotten into watching Hammer Horror films and this is the best one I've seen yet. Great tension and suspense with a mystery that I honestly didn't see coming. Loved it. Highly recommended.
