Does the US release have any extras? It looks like the French release has a director's commentary and also her short film Junior.

Decal/Neon just released Pig on Blu in the US, and it was just reviewed and received very mediocre marks for its picture quality. The review says the file for the film is only 16 gigs of the bd-50, and it gets blocky and has banding. Doesn't say severe but a file size that low is incomprehensible, and it probably wasn't a mistake unfortunately. This makes me extremely worried about the upcoming release of Titane from them. If they're gonna screw up that badly with Pig, they could easily make the same poor decisions and complete lack of effort with this film on disc too. Probably why the price for these is so cheap! It's a shame there is no UK release announced yet, unlike Pig, because by all accounts both the German and French blu's have no english subs, but will probably both offer much better and more consistent picture quality.

I suppose we could cut Decal a little slack as this could just be them figuring things out, but yeah if their encoding is going to continue to be this poor, then it's really a bad thing they switched over from Universal. And that's besides the fact that we'd likely be getting a 4K release (plus digital) with Universal too.

Altitude just confirmed a U.K. Blu for early next year. At least it’s coming, even if it’s not 4K

Given Decal's lackluster content with Pig and apparently Spencer, I have my expectations low on this home video release. I guess they just had enough income to simply give them physical releases to begin with, and hopes boutique labels would follows suit later.

Some of their 2021 releases deserve better than a single-layer Blu-Ray release with scant extras.

It's not anything new for NEON. Even when they were distributed by Universal, their releases were mostly light, or completely lacking in extras. My biggest concern is their encoding. I won't even touch Titane until I hear it isn't poorly encoded/compressed.

Fair, or at least in regards to their recent movies; they used to provide healthy content in their early years. Which is why I'm hoping Neon hasn't lost their ties to Criterion, especially now they're in a 4K mood.

I could see a Criterion release of this. If darling films like Uncut Gems and NEON sibling Parasite can get releases, then why not this one? It's got enough critical acclaim and I'm sure Criterion would love to release another female directed film.
Plus it would sit nicely along with Cronenberg's Crash.

A canadian version is scheduled to release on Jan 18. I think Elevation/Entract are handling it.
