Tell that to Batman V Superman. Was a huge $873.6 million hit, yet the media and WB just set out to disassemble Zack Snyder and his DCEU plans entirely based on the critical reaction. That was an even bigger gross than, say, M:I Fallout, which was considered an absolute smash success that led to McQuarrie getting two M:I sequels greenlit back to back. Powerful people put a huge weight in RT scores, right or wrong.
