it's listed as only two discs on gruv, but the rear cover art seems to confirm that it also includes the special features from the deluxe edition, which is great since i missed out on it originally! (didn't think a movie like this was going to be a hot seller on home media)

edit: my mistake, looks like the deluxe edition was only swag, not any on-disc content, so i feel better about having missed it. strange that the steelbook listing here still shows a bonus dvd..maybe someone was thinking the same thing i was originally?
edit2: went in and submitted the updates myself; looks like maybe it was a remnant of the original 4k listing, as it still said slipcover, etc.

$24.99 shipped less 20% with code SIGNUP20 at gruv.com: https://www.gruv.com/product/downton...dition_blu_ray

Came out to $21.49 net after sales tax for me.

And for those unfamiliar, yes that's a legit site. It's run by Universal. Code is multiple-use.

Is this movie any good? Do I have to watch the series to enjoy the or get what the movie is about? I have never seen the series nor was inclined to do so.

Yes and yes. You might understand what's going on in the movie plot-wise if you approach it blind without having seen the series, but you'll not fully understand the relationship dynamics between the characters without having watched the show.

And I will say if you watch some of the series and it's not your cup of tea, then neither will the movie.

the steelbook is a pretty huge mess though, who on Earth thought to make it dull matte??? it doesn't like golden or sparkling or anything and the product photos are a fraud. it's ultra dull finish and the golden building looks like dull yellow snot. really cheap. it looks way worse than any of the product photos or even the photos posted by someone above. a putrid, dull, dingy yellow tan

did the Zavvi version end up looking proper or is it the same mess as the U.S. one?

I've never seen the series, but ended up seeing the movie with at the Dolby Cinema fan night. I'm sure I missed plenty of reveals and this and that, surely tons, but that said it still worked and I didn't feel lost or like it was pointless or anything. I just simply didn't know all the stuff I likely didn't get surprised or this or that by that those who saw it all got, but it still worked plenty fine.
