Depends on if they stack it, which was just one of the problems, or if they learned from feedback from stacking and put them in their own trays like they did with The Office

You know, I'd have taken a Mill Creek release of Parks and Rec if it meant less stacked/scratched discs and problems. I've never had a problem with their Universal releases, except for Josie and the Pussycats movie. I bought P&R and promptly returned it because nearly every disc was scratched in both sets (original and replacement) that I got... and then after hearing about how the extended episodes later aren't in HD and some have weird aspect ratios, I still haven't bothered getting it again even though I love the show. But I won't accept such a flawed attempt. If NBC fixes their problems, I'd even pay $150 for it all

It's not a matter of "what's left" as much as "what will they release".
I'm surprised Superstore hasn't came out, but we definitely need Psych... but we need the movies as well. They don't have to package them together, it can be the series and then a 3 pack of movies or each movie individually, but they need to also come out.

But the NBC years drag the whole thing down. Hell, I still haven't seen a reason to watch the final season yet.

However, I'll be buying this, because I never did buy the DVDs after season 6 since they went MOD. So this'll get me the good seasons for a decent price, and the crap seasons for completism's sake.
Actually, as much as Fox gets mentioned as being "cutting edge" with stories and dialouge, it seemed "riskier" when it was on NBC. Though yeah, the last season got too political based on all that was happening and they scrapped what was already written and incorporated real world stuff and it just wasn't as good. That being said, I'm all over this... title of your sex tape.

I understand your pain... Amazon sent me 2(!) replacements before I was able to cobble together a set of all discs that would verify as 100% readable. At least Universal PQ is much better than Mill Creek, and most extras are in HD and not SD.

FWIW, if you are multiregion or have a Region B player, there is a UK release of P&R that addresses some of your concerns like the aspect ratio and Cones of Dunshire deleted scenes.

Granted, I'd avoid placing an international pre-order for B99 before the cases and disc condition can be established!

It took me two attempts at P&R to cobble together one full set with only a few discd with minor scratches; and ultimately they all worked fine.

On the other hand, there were some issues with the actual content on the discs, at least a couple episodes that were partially or completely Mono. I didnt notice any aspect ratio issues, but I probably wouldnt. And of course the inexplicable decision when using "Play All" to show the broadcast version of an episode and not the extended episode.

I hate so much that they're stacked though. Mill Creek leaned heavily on stacking in some of their earlier sets (Community, Friday Night Lights), but lately it doesn't seem like they've been using them. My Community set had some scratches as well from being stacked, but those all worked as well.

Naturally: I just picked up the season 5, 6 and 7 DVDs. You're welcome. At least I'm in time to cancel my season 8 order.

Still, by the time I've finished them there'll probably be a price drop and we'll know if they screwed up again.

Amazon's weird for me, they have no problem using my card to charge me for orders or Prime, but yet always say they can't verify it when I try to get a replacement. I have to send it back for a refund and buy it again... so I could never cobble anything together. When I got The Office from Deep Discount, I had a couple scratched discs and they went above and beyond with it. They let me keep them all until I got a complete scratch-free set, even sending just the individual seasons I was needing to get instead of sending a 3rd replacement of the full set. Well after the return period. I'm just weird about scratches, I've had something scratched work the first time and not again later. But the scratches were the least of my worries with the set. Too many issues with everything, and it's MOD so I don't see why Universal hasn't corrected them. I don't have a region free player though, if I got one and then i messed up, I wouldn't be able to just buy a new one right away, and it'd mean I wouldn't have enough to import the stuff I'd need the player for lol

I hope Universal learned with P&R and don't mess up this.

To get the replacement for the replacement, I chatted with customer service and they manually put in the request. Luckily I had all three sets in front of me to mix and match from.

I ran into a similar problem with Amazon UK with the complete series X-Files in early 2020. They cut me off after one replacement (and having to reimburse $60 return shipping twice!), and I had to wait a few months and try again. Luckily third time had all clear discs.

On the bright side, it seems like catalog TV on BD is having a bit of a renaissance. Just imagine if Disney changed course and was open to MOD...

What a delightful surprise, and being released by Universal no less! I know a lot of people have mixed opinions on the NBC seasons but I thought they were just as good as its predecessors although I will admit that S6E15-Return of the King is the weakest episode of the entire series. Im curious if this set will include any new bonus features, I'd love for there to be some cast & crew commentary tracks! NINE NINE!

Do you know if the different region Parks and Rec release is still stacked as well? I really was holding out hoping they would reissue it in the US with better packaging, but if this other region one has individual disc holders and fixes those other issue you mentioned, I'll gladly get that one instead. Also what do you do to test your discs and make sure they are 100% readable?

Great show from first episode to last episode. Andre Braugher's performance as Raymond Holt... I can't even put it into words.

Subtitles in multiple languages for the show exist on Netflix (except Season 8 so far), they only need to adapt them for the release, but I guess that depends on who owns them (Netflix or Universal).

That '70s Show Blu-ray's could've used the same treatment (Netflix already had subs in multiple languages), but they didn't even bother to include at least the English ones. I managed to save the subs before the show got removed, someone else actually went through the hard job and synced them to match the Blu-ray versions.

I truly believe it's the most underrated tv performance of all time. He was a delight from start to finish. I don't think I've ever laughed harder at a tv character.

I actually think S6's Casecation is the worst episode of the entire series.

Actually just rewatched that one the other day and it's pretty unendurable. I've never thought about what the very worst episode of the series is, but that one was singularly bad.

To be fair though, Return of the King is also awful. Mostly because I've never been able to stand Gina and wasn't interested in her coming back for even one episode. It did get points though for Jake and Terry finally calling her out on her being a terrible friend. The secondary storylines for the other characters were cringe-inducing.

Between the two, I still say Casecation is worse.

RotK has its issues, but Gina was always written as an exaggerated over the top character, so I can overlook it. And - like you said - the end of the episode helps redeem it a bit.

But whenever Casecation would come up in my rewatches, I would usually skip it. I really don't buy for a second that the Amy we've seen be over-prepared for everything up to that point would have been married to Jake for months and the top of them having kids had never come up. Not to mention the whole debate scene is painfully unfunny.

I really enjoyed S7 and S8, but looking back, I think S6 suffered from them extending its episode count when it was underway and they had to work in episodes around the plot line.

I have no problem with over the top characters; Gina was just a perpetually negative person who treated everyone like garbage. I think that sort of character works in other shows (i.e. The Office), but I didn't like that dynamic in an otherwise positive show like B99.
