I'd second that after taking a brief look at both. The 4K looks smoooooooth. It's not wax face smooth, it's heavy beauty pass smooooth and looks totally weird. Think Goonies but next level, but not T2 just yet, but close I guess.

I'm not familar with the movie and bought this with a coupon, but the BD would've done the job and provides the better pq AFAICT for now. EuroVideo...

Is the BD better than the old BD? Or the same?

Never seen this movie before (and don't own any other release), but took a quick look at caps after taking a brief look at both discs and yes, it sure does look better than that. But the 4K received some rather strong DNR treatment - the BD (while not perfect either in that regard) didn't look as smooth to me (and again, clearly better than what is up at caps).

I just now found out Noble Entertainment are releasing it on Blu-ray here in the Nordic countries. Considering the timing, I wonder if it's the same transfer?

It appears the mono won't be included on the Nordic release, though...

Comparing the same scenes, I think the BD is just as smooth. Would have to take a proper look... (as in not just random clicks).

Doesn't look horrid, but too smooth for sure. And no doubt better than what's up at caps.

As I said with the last comment, the BD is just as smooth (and I only "picked" better scenes first) and I hope you'll see the smoothness - textures (clothes and so on or take #15) look utterly smooth. And the 4K is a total waste IMHO. Also the BD still somehow looks better to me in motion. Would have to spend more time with it though. Maybe the compression is better/more consistent - don't know (yet)...

But clearly better than what's up at caps.

Here's the Bowie cap, since the 4K one didn't upload properly there... (it's also one where the 4K is better, but meh)

Comparison 12 you uploaded shows the UHD edging ahead with better/sharper details (the signs above the shops are a bit better defined).

I also saw more detail with #13 (on the caps that is), but I'm still meh. I'm a general impression first, caps second guy. My first impression of only the 4K being smoooooth was wrong, but I'm still totally unimpressed.

I have ordered the UHD anyway: I don’t see any problems here apart from the fact the UHD doesn’t add anything (tighter grain management seems to be about it). But I lived with the previous blu-ray for 10 years, and I’m gonna be very happy with this new transfer judging from the caps.

I guess my point is: Lower your expectations (re. "4K" in particular) and maybe don't spend too much money on it. I wish I would've paid even a tad less for it now. Because there's wasted pq potential for sure...

I'm also not a fan of posting half assed pq thoughts, but since I don't think I'll spend much/more time with this one pq wise, I just blurted out what I think/had.

Just watched it. Rather liked the dark color timing.

The English subtitles were... not great. Too liberal.

[Show spoiler]

She's asking if he feels anything sleeping with his johns. Should have written something like, "Do you feel anything?" How they wrote it makes it sound like she is interested, rather than the intended idea that she doesn't want him doing it for pleasure (being monogamous).

The man is screaming, "Not in the face!" They didn't sub it. You can argue it's not important, but I think it should be there because it emphasizes her rage more. There was a lot they didn't sub.

He tells her to think about think about it (doing H for the first time) once more.

She says Kessi doesn't need anyone around her who gives her foolish thoughts.

I didn't capture all the problems that I noticed, and there were probably a lot more that slipped by my deteriorated German. Also noticed some bad grammar and lack of punctuation, like periods missing at the end of sentences, but those were few.

Thanks to everyone who gave their thoughts on the 4K picture quality. I'm thinking I'll be happier grabbing the Blu-ray mediabook at its lower price.

Unfortunately, the new releases have a bizarre instance of optical censorship, blurring the name of Stimorol, a Danish brand of chewing gum that was acquired by Cadbury-Schweppes in 2002 and re-branded as "Trident":

Apparently, another shot was mirrored to fix a continuity error, as well.

Found this clip. Looks good pic quality to me but of course can not judge from here:

Find this article that says there is no runtime difference.

https://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=614150

Those of you seen the movie what is it in the uncut vs cut actually? I live in a country where I can get in trouble if this movie has some explicit nudity or anything like that include minors. Please let me know is it safe to import. (Main character looks like a minor)

Also I haven't seen or heard about this movie but I loved Requiem and I love such different cinema like indie or arthouse so I guess I gonna like it. From where did you guys bought it?
