This is one of those fantastic, controlled-Cage performances. I love when he goes zany and over the top but when he reels it in he truly is a wonderful actor.

Also helps that this is a riot of a film, with some quite hilarious moments.

Never seen this one and it looks to have a fairly high imdb score. Guess it was back when Nic Cage was still trying to be an A-lister and not a b-movie madman.

He didn't stop trying until after The Wicker Man. I think it came right after this movie.

the control of the dramatic and comedic tone in this film shows a great artistry that very few filmmakers have. This movie is at the same time one of the funniest and most depressing movies Ive seen. Also both cage and caine should've gotten an oscar for this

Saw this in theaters, great flick! Hans Zimmer scored the film perfectly.
Shame it’s the same crappy artwork from the DVD release, original poster image is much better.

Paramount have been undergoing a rebranding, now using the name “Paramount Pictures” on their logo except during the logo at the beginning of the film, due to the fact they adopted Paramount as their corporate name (over ViacomCBS).

This is arguably my all time favorite movie, certainly favorite (dark) comedy. It's been my avatar picture since I've had an account on this site, and if I'm being honest, half the time I've come to check this site its been to see if there's ever any news on this release.

Needless to say, I'm ecstatic about this news

I know how you feel. Bringing Out the Dead (which is also owned by Paramount) has been on my list for a long, long, LONG time.

I second that man. This is also one of my all time favorites. Somehow it just hits all the right spots. Sad, true, depressing, insightful, and darkly hilarious.

I mean.. come on.. we are all movie lovers here. Everyone will have a hard time picking a top 10 list. This is in mine.

For so many years seeing B movies, even junky grindhouse movies get blu ray treatment and the fact this never even got a release just blows my mind. Lazy release, but better than nothing !

For those whom never seen it, a movie that comes to mind that is kind of similar is "About Schmidt" with Jack Nicholson.

I'm not embarrassed to say I have 46 Cage films on Blu-ray

This is top tier Cage so you're in for a treat.
