So, what's the consensus in Speed? I got mine from bestprices.com. Return and ask for the replacement, or return and forget?

If it plays, keep it. My second copy played fine and is the best the movie has ever looked and sounded. Another great Fox title, aside from some poor java coding.

Please talk more about the Java stuff - I would be interested in what they are doing with it, even if it is a little underwhelming

Samsung player performs Fox's BD-J titles very poorly - it's very slow, almost unbearable level. Panasonic and PS3 are just fine (much much faster than Samsung). PS3 does load it far faster, and for the game built in this movie, PS3 is the best plyaer because of its controller

As to the playability of the disc, I noticed that my copy (does not work on Samsung) is not replicated by Sony DADC. The info in the inner ring is apparently different from DADC's one. This copy has a "b" mark of "Blu-ray" logo.

Does anyone who has trouble with this title on Samsung also have this "Blu-ray" logo mark printed in the inner ring on the disc?

I just received my second copy from Amazon and neither has worked on the Samsung.

Like Rio, mine has the "Blu-Ray" logo on it. I also have LEAGUE, which does load and play.

Any tips out there to find one that does work on the Samsung? Thks.

Update - Well, I went out and bought another copy from Fry's. While the first time it did the same thing (ejected right away), I then let it reload by closing the tray and voila, it loaded. Took forever, but it worked. I will try on a PS3 that is being delivered tomorrow to see if it is any better on it.
Oh, and my Samsung does have the firmware update.

Well, just tried the same disc on the PS3.

It loads flawlessly. The speed of load between it and the Samsung is no contest.

The Samsung takes over a 1 minute to load the disc (when it loads). That load circle is very jerky and just feels clumsy.

The PS3 loads in 19 seconds, and the load circle is solid and fast.

It is an amazing difference.

Good to hear that the PS3 plays back "Speed" O.K. I am having the same problems with this disc on the Samsung and already got an exchange from Amazon and still no luck.

I've emailed Samsung Customer Support. I'll let everyone know if they respond with anything substantive (fingers crossed).

I am returning mine. BestPrice sent prepaid label, which is nice. Hopefully next copy will play.

Hold on to you Samsung's, Fox is apparently replacing the defective discs.

Fox is showing its true support for BD. I don't think there's any HD discs have been recalled so far. Give Fox some love!

Way to go Fox! They didn't take the easy way out. That's the way to do it!

If you were lazy and haven't sent your Speed to fox to replace. They have DHL account #16090288 and using that U can send in the disc for free.

Speed played in my Philips player after trying 4-5 times....and it plays in the Sony player after a much shorter version of the circle swirl... the first time.

Behind Enemy Lines also has a short circle swirl before loading on the Sony.

When I called them, they told me they would send a prepaided mailer. So, just waiting for that arrive to mail it back.

Did anyone receive the replacement Speed so far? I just called them and they said "we're waiting for more returns to come in so we ship them out in a bulk".

Are there any physical differences on the box between the 'old' and updated versions of this movie? I'm looking to get one, but am not sure if the ones in the store are from the initial shipment... the guy at the store is clueless, so no point in asking him...

also, howz the PQ and SQ?
