I'd settle for the preview cut with the sequence involving Garrett's wife reinserted, but hopefully they'll have the sense to include them all.

I think no matter what this is a complicated release, as the film has so many cuts and the materials are in all kinds of shape. Hopefully they include multiple cuts, but we'll see I suppose.

That’s my hope too. From my understanding of the commentaries and other bits of history I’ve read, that scene was in fact in the preview cut, and its reasons for being left out of the released 1988 “Turner Preview” version are unknown. Hope they take that into account when they restore it.

The new edit of Miller’s Crossing happened directly at the behest of the Cohen bros. Not really a risk of that happening here for obvious reasons. I imagine Criterion will include at least two (or more) cuts in their edition.

I'm sure that a Criterion release will at the very least include the include the Preview Cut and the Seydor Cut.
The question is will the Preview Cut be restored in any way and will it also include the Theatrical Cut?

Naturally it would be great to have all three versions in great quality but I like the Seydor cut a lot and would be happy even if it was the only fully restored version.

Yeah, it's not a wish because unless Alex Cox was lying which would make no sense, it's something that's happening. Oh well.

Well if it's just the Seydor cut, then I'm not interested. I'd hope it'll be like the DVD release & have both the Turner & Seydor cuts (& I'd also hope it gets a UK release). The Seydor cut occasionally shows up on TCM in HD (in the UK) & looks pretty good.

They could easily branch the Theatrical Cut with the Seydor Cut on one disc, with the superior cut all to itself on another
