Can't believe this is happening. Huge Herzog fan and want to have all his lesser-known films but given they released pretty much all the films anyone's heard of in the first set, I highly doubted a volume 2 would be marketable enough to happen.
This is instantly my release of the year. June 14 an exciting day for Herzog fans... Too bad about the lack of Scream of Stone, Bells from the Deep, and Wings of Hope though... I suppose the prospects for a Volume 3 are even more slim. |

Can you believe that Herzog did one of those online AMA (Ask Me Anything) things and no one thought (or dared) to ask him about the infamous, "Game in the Sand"? He likely wouldn't have given much info, anyway, but I wish someone would have asked.
It's pretty much the one Herzog I have never seen, and will likely never see. |

I've always believed it was an influence on Stephen King's "The Shining".
(Signs of Life) is from 1968 in Germany, and was shown at the 1968 New York Film Festival. King's novel was published in 1975. I'm not saying King ripped it off directly or anything, I just think he may have seen it and it may have influenced him. —— That’s an interesting theory and I can see some similarities. The valley of the windmills is one of the most striking images in cinema, I think. |

Mine arrived from Shout today. The OCD side of me is a bit weird about the packaging differences between the two volumes, but this is definitely more space-saving.
Never seen any of the movies in this volume - looking forward to checking them out. |
