New interview with the District 9 director on Gran Turismo The Movie 2023 Summer release, from the stage of the CES Consumer Electronics Show 2023 today from Sony.

They have details about the driving and small cameras and cables for unique camera points of views.

What they're describing as "groundbreaking", Need for Speed already accomplished nearly a decade ago, and it wasn't impressive, even then.

Need for Speed was really entertaining and well shot but didn't have any of those really impressive swooping shots in that sneak peek.

I really liked the Need for Speed movie for what it was, if this is anything close to that I'll be satisfied.

Yes, because if Ambulance & The Gray Man taught us anything, pointless swoopy drone shots are super cool...

Yeah, I think it’s about a kid who grew up playing the GT games and it became his path to becoming a professional race car driver.

I dunno, I'm liking this premise more than I probably should. Plus, Fast & Furious isn't much of a car series, and Need for Speed didn't go anywhere, so a solid GT series could be a lot of fun. Hopefully this movie is both good and successful!

August 2023 for the release date of GT, so not much more time to fine tune the movie. I hope these are all real cars and not CGI but with CGI cars these days, it's tough to tell, considering the photo-realistic cars in the Gran Turismo PS5 game.

Gran Turismo the movie reminds me of Need for Speed the movie and Driven, which were both entertaining despite their flaws IMO.
