Popped this is and it's just a SDR 4K. Wow, if so, they really screwed up the specs. This was supposed to be HDR10/DV and Dolby Atmos. All 3 are missing. Both players (820 & PS5) say it's in HEVC, so this is definitely just 4K SDR with the same soundtrack from the BD.

The digital 4K has DV, too.

Really? That's ridiculous. I hope it's just a mistake and not meant to be like that.

Just finished watching this, aside from the lack of HDR the audio commentary "movie" audio (audio of what's happening on the screen at a lower volume) lags behind the video several seconds. The regular audio track is fine, just the commentary track has this issue. Not sure if that was the case with previous releases?

4K SDR physical wins anytime over 4K DV Digital lol

Maybe a bad batch of discs floating around.

If it's SDR only then it's off my list but, does the digital really have actual HDR grading or is it just the usual SDR to DV conversion alot of streaming do?

Same thing with my copy. Quite a big disappointment!

I also noticed that the soundtrack is just DTS-HD MA 5.1, while the BD had 7.1.

Damnit. I was hoping this would be one of those secretly great transfers/audio mixes because of the nature of the movie. Sounds bad.

What's the usual SDR to DV conversion you are talking about? The iTunes version is proper Dolby Vision and I'd the disc had it, both will look similar w.r. to HDR.

I can set my Panny to do SDR/HDR conversion for streaming. Doesn't mean it's actual Dolby Vision. I thought this was common knowledge.

I thought your previous post implied the DV streams are simply SDR to HDR converted which is not the case. The stream is proper 4K DV and it's been like this for ages.

Weird that LG did a Kino Lorber with Gamer.

I don't imply that but, how do you know it's proper HDR grading? I mean it's a small movie in comparison but has there been any announcements before about that release and who approved the grading? Not to mention, why wouldn't such grading make its way onto a disc..
