I mean, the first three are by far the best of the Chucky franchise, so I'm super stoked for this! I am fine with just having the rest on Blu-ray (and the TV series and Seed of Chucky on DVD).

ABOUT TIME! a Collector's Edition BD yet even better UHD 4K of one of my favorite sequels since i saw it in theaters when i was 9 years old.

Such an awesome sequel that almost surpasses the first and ups the ante and delivers the thrills and excitement.

Can't wait.

I'd rather the Psycho sequels first.

I would agree except Jaws 3 and 4 also need a release with extra features in addition to 4K.

I want both, but the transfers on the Psycho sequels are decent while Jaws 3 and The Revenge leave a lot to be desired. Especially Revenge with uneven grain, noise reduction, edge halos, etc. Plus the original theatrical ending has never been restored and released on any home video format. After 35 years it's LONG overdue.

Considering these are on average $37 retail each from shout making this trilogy alone in the ball park of $111 for three movies, the fantasy of a big boxset of 7 movies for Chucky, 8/10/13 movies for Halloween (dependent on how complete they make it) or 12 movies for Friday the 13th on 4k you'd be looking at between $259 for a 7 movie set and $444 for a 12 movie 4k set. Even discounted somewhat, you're still talking between 2 and 3 hundred for a 4k set. Whilst hardcore collectors would probably shell out for this the reality is most won't so I think the best we'll see the time being is individual releases of these movies.

Take the F13 boxset, all those movies, all that content and it didn't sell out like Halloween did, has been in many sales through Amazon etc and still is readily available.. If people aren't shelling out like 100 bucks for a fully loaded blu ray set for Friday the 13th would they be shelling out 250 for a Chucky or NOES 4k set? With this logic I can see why shout aren't running in with the fully loaded 4k boxsets

Welp…bye bye universal collection.

And tbh, the Blu-rays for 2 and 3 in said collection didn’t have any special features to begin with, save for just the trailers.

Pre-ordered!

We got to give a big thanks to Universal here for finally playing ball with Scream Factory on sublicensing the sequels.

This is such a great way to celebrate the label's 10th anniversary.

I hope Universal will play ball on licensing the Jaws sequels as well. I want 2-4 on UHD to go with the original film.

I asked Alex Vincent on one of his Instagram live chats last year (when he was filming the Chucky series) about if there were any plans from shout to do a Chucky boxset - thinking we'd get a blu ray complete collection and he responded by saying he'd been contacted by shout to do an interview about Chucky 2. I expected there'd be a collectors edition for the second movie but it would appear this was for this set so they've been working on this for the past 12 months I'd say or in that region

In defense, the original trailers were the only extras for the respected films (but will no doubt be included for the CEs).

all that matters is Universal caved in the end for these ones

let's hope that Warner eventually caves with the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and let them release a mega set, cause I find the current BD set half assed in all honesty

Really glad to see the sequels finally getting a new fancy 4K treatment. All the previous blu-rays were working with a nearly 20 year old dvd master, so hoping for the best on 2 and 3. Would be cool to get Bride and I GUESS Seed despite it looking like a made for TV movie, but the first 3 are the only true essentials for me.

Seed of Chucky was atrocious. I don't know why and how that movie had even got greenlit to make. It was just that terrible.

Seed of Chucky is objectively awful. I remember seeing it back when it came out in 2004 and trying to force myself into liking it. I figured it would click but eventually just realized it's just a terrible movie. I tried watching it when I did a complete series rewatch last year and just didn't finish it. Cult of Chucky sucks too but I can at least get through it.

It may be out of WB's hands for now, since the rights to the original film have reverted to Wes Craven's estate.

They don't own the original film, the estate only owns the rights for future films.
