I'm 42 and feel the same as you do.

The thing to know is that it's not really a short film. Romero decided to shoot the first ten (or so) minutes of a feature that he wanted to make, hoping to use it to raise the money to shoot the rest.

If you go in expecting a full story, it would likely be disappointing. It's paced like the first ten minutes of a Romero feature. But as the first piece of an unfinished film, it's got some promise.

RJLE is usually hit or miss with extras om these Shudder films. More popular titles get something, but I really hope this at least gets a commentary.

Found 2014's LATE PHASES quite moving. Other "aging horror" titles off the top of my head: 81's GHOST STORY, 74's HOMEBODIES, 71's BROTHERHOOD OF SATAN, and (not horror but "genre"), the COCOON films. I'm sure there's more, including some episodes of Romero's TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE and MONSTERS TV series.

So looking forward to this one. Made me think of ALL IS LOST - those rides a metaphor, like the sea was in that film.

Good stuff!! Does anybody know if George A. Romero's Martin (1976) will be getting a proper hi-def release any time soon? That's the missing piece. Any reason it hasn't been released yet?? Seems like easily one of his best movies!!

Judging by the trailer, it's an ugly transfer. Was the negative in bad shape?

It was a super faded and damaged print, no original materials.

I checked this out on Shudder tonight. I enjoyed it; it's an eye-opener. Great performance by Lincoln Maazel.

Best Buy

Does anyone know if Best Buy is getting any copies in their store? Usually I see the shudder titles there, but their movie section has been getting worse and worse lately..

Wow, that's an impressive list but then it is a re-discovered Romero film.
