I think the latter season GoT hate was wildly overblown, but I agree that it became too fast paced, so I appreciate that this show seems to be taking its time again and breathing. Helps that it's focused on a single house.

I don't want this series to rush to incorporate more Westeros history than it needs to. |

Expect pre-orders to go up 23rd October - 3 weeks time just after the last episode of the series airs. If, as is looking likely, the only 4K option is going to be a Steelbook, I hope it's not stacked like the Season 8 one of Game of Thrones was.

Price looks about right to me. Remember it includes the Steelbook tax.

Not only that, season 7 and 8 decided to completely destroy & contradict some character's amazing arcs from earlier seasons. House of the Dragon isn't perfect (the amount of time jumps doesn't do it for me) and definitely isn't as good as GoT S1-4 but it so far has good buildup with fairly good writing for the characters, however, some better than others. The main characters who get a lot of screen time get a lot of time to flesh out their characters and build up arcs. [Show spoiler]

If you don't like the ending of GOT blame Martin, not the producers. It still ended better than the original Star Wars trilogy (dancing teddy bears save the day), The Sopranos and the film The Wizard of Oz. |

They went with what Martin told them about how he wanted it to end. You might want to do a little research in the future. This has been confirmed by all sources. Martin has said a lot of things over the years and constantly contradicted himself but the producers sure as hell didn't make up the ending on their own. Martin also said he couldn't write for the TV show anymore because he had to finish the books. Do you believe that?! If the producers had changed the ending you would have been screaming bloody murder about that too. Yes, I think the ending of GOT is better than the ending of "The Wizard of Oz". Unlike GOT "The Wizard of Oz" book had been finished before they made the movie and they did not go with the original ending. It was not all a dream in the book and I guess it was nice of the film to end before Margaret Hamilton came back to destroy her dog, but she was certainly coming back. It would have been very easy for them to include a line about the sheriff saying her dog could stay if they kept it on a leash, but they didn't bother. The director had left the film by that point and was making "Gone with the Wind" and Dorothy's life was so miserable in Kansas to the point that she would not have wanted to go back. These were all things that had been done better in the book.

Yes, but the ending itself wasn't changed. Don't you think it's a little strange that Martin has basically given up on finishing the books? If he had ended it completely differently don't you think he would have finished years ago to get his ending out there. I'm sure if he ever decided to finish the books he could probably do a better job of selling the ending. God knows he has had a lot more time to do it then the producers had. They didn't have several decades to work out the problem.
