Given the relatively recent release of The Untouchables on DVD and the fact that it was remastered from the negatives, I'd say that a BD release is certainly possible, but it being likely depends heavily on sales of other vintage TV series on Blu-Ray, which is something we know we have to say time and again to remind and encourage people to buy physical media.

You can all thank me since I recently picked up the complete DVD set. If I can pick up this set for around the price I paid for the Andy Griffith blu set (about eighty dollars after taxes), I'll be happy to upgrade.

When you are on a budget, damn straight you're going to complain about the cost. If this were about $20-30 cheaper, it would be a better chance I'd pick it up closer to release, although even then I'd have to not pick something else up to make up the difference. At nearly $100, it's going to be a while till I can afford it.

Let's keep in mind, we are entering into a recession. That's going to have a negative effect on home media release the same way it did the last time we were in a recession. Studios are either going to have to drop their prices a little or (what I actually expect) put less out there for a while.

regarding the reaction to the price, here is my personal opinion.

If you love a series/film, and it is one of your favorites, then having it in high def in a box set is 'must have, price is no object' scenario. I know there are a few - and only a few - films that I would be willing to shell out $40+ if it came out in a deluxe LE. I see others doing something like that for some LEs. Same goes for TV shows. There are only a few shows that I really love that I would shell out $100 for - even though, price per episode, $100 is actually quite a bargain.

If CBS treats this like they did Mission Impossible series, then I am sure it will be a stellar transfer and a fantastic set for the fans of the show.

For me, I liked the show when it was on, but didn't love it. I am not sure I would even get to watch every season, and if I would it would probably take me years. So, for me, price comes into consideration. I can easily get 5 to 10 BDs of my favorite films for the price of this set. It just comes down to priorities. The cheaper the set is, the more it is attractive to me.

Again, just my personal opinion on things.

All these people complaining about the price. It's only $99. For me that converts to around about $143 in my currency, but I've still preordered, because A: I like the show and B: I want to show support to the studio, hopefully if enough people buy, it may give them incentive to release other classic TV shows on Blu-ray that were shot on film.

As someone else mentioned, it's only cents per episode. If everyone waits until specials, it just shows to the studios that there isn't the appropriate demand.

Thanks to people not buying the Star Trek TNG sets when they were released at full price, it killed any chance of DS9 and Voyager getting a Blu-ray release. America really needs to pay an actual living minimum wage rather than a pittance.

Decent price for a terrific show that I watched with my grandfather. Can't put a price on that. I will get this and watch it day one, thinking of him with each episode!

Unfortunately, the blame lies with the corporate folks. Not only did they rush the job of getting the series remastered and released on Blu, with sub-par work and errors galore, they also shot themselves in the foot again, after the releases began. The first market to get a complete series release was the UK - region free - and for some bizarre reason, it was sold at a very very low price, so low that it made no sense whatsoever when compared to the price of the stand-alone season releases. TNG fans around the world were getting that boxset for a steal from the get-go and then the price dropped even lower, to the point where it was just a little more or sometimes less than what one of the single season releases were going for.

Talyn, yes, there is no price on anything that can bring back precious memories. I hope this set will bring you much pleasure.

Anyone know what extras will be on this? Will the extras form the Kommandat's Kollection be included?

Long may CBS/Paramount embrace blu ray for its TV shows. As always it will need supporting. We are already seeing the negative impact that streaming is having on cinema itself, let alone the blu-ray/dvd industry.

This set looks like amazing value for a Hogan's Heroes fan.

This is $84.99 at Movies Unlimited. If you add something else to get your total to $100, you can knock $30 off your price with the code: MU22AUG

Probably more of a chance of seeing I Love Lucy on Blu-ray before the Beverly Hillbillies!

So far they've only released 5 of the 9 Beverly Hillbillies seasons on DVD, with season 5 being released in 2018.
I'm hoping they do a 4 season DVD set for the final 4 seasons, but I'm not holding my breath!

I have the German Hogan's Heroes Blu-ray set, which I've yet to watch! But I will pick up this release as well, as it was my favourite show when I was a kid!

Very interested once the information is out. Not getting rid of my Kommandat's Kollection bonus disc till I know it's safe to do so.

I'm happy for Hogan's Heroes fans, but this bodes well for other classic TV shows to be possibly released on Blu-ray! Of the Paramount shows, I'd also love to see The Untouchables, the rest of I Love Lucy, Have Gun Will Travel, The Invaders, and especially The Fugitive (with the proper original music)!
