I don't know anything about The Naked Gun but I'd watch this.

I love The Naked Gun series been watching then since I was a kid. If done right this could work and to be honest, I got bored with the action films that Lian Neeson was making.

Neeson’s rare comedic roles include A Million Ways to Die in the West, a serious role in The Orville, and a brief skit with Key & Peele.

Seth MacFarlane's sharpest Family Guy sense of humor could work really well as the writer of a new Naked Gun film reboot. Just a matter of delivery for Neeson (who is an expert on believable acting), but if Seth thinks Liam is the guy to be Lieutenant Frank Drebin of Police Squad, that's hopeful.

With how slow these wheels have been turning for many years now, hopefully the project is just about ready to be started.

A Naked Gun reboot starring Liam Neeson is set for July 18, 2025. Akiva Schaffer will direct and executive produce. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand wrote the draft script along with Schaffer, with whom they partnered on the Primetime Emmy-winning film, Chip n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers. Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are producing via their company Fuzzy Door. Project is based off the Naked Gun movies and Police Squad! TV series from Jim Abrahams & David Zucker & Jerry Zucker.

Does it though? The original is a classic and still works fine. A reboot will probably have several restrictions on what comedy they can include, right? So, dunno….its like rebooting revenge of the nerds or Blazing Saddles. Neither of those could possibly work in this current ultra sensitive environment.

Take a look at what’s happened to stand up comedy. It’s filtered and neutered like crazy these days.

Seth MacFarlane (along with Trey and Matt from South Park) is the only one that seems to go hard on the jokes these days, so there's a chance, a bit a small one, that this could be just as same. Although, The Naked Gun was never anywhere near as hard as Revenge of the Nerds or Blazing Saddles

The Ted series on Peacock has some pretty good humor given the comments about today's comedy being filtered. Seth MacFarlane of course "is" Ted.

Agreed. I think if he plays it straight while getting in ridiculous situations it'll work like gangbusters.

I was never a huge fan of the Naked Gun movies (only saw the second one), but I like Liam Neeson as an actor. If done the right way, this could be a "screwy goofball" kind of comedy, and I'd be up for that.

The 2nd one was probably the least funny one of the three IMO, other than the really funny opening scenes at the dinner party.
