Most of the series has looked like this so far (episode 18 is next up), but for some reason, the second half of episode 17 has significantly less DNR than the previous episodes and contains an abundance of grain, making this the most organic and sharp the show has looked. I took a peak at episode 18 and that seems more in line with the rest of the show disappointingly.

The episode itself is equally fantastic, bringing the focus back to Nobuhiko with a fantastical plot from Gorgom to use Kyoko's dreams of all things to lure her and drain her life energy. Keita Amemiya's creature designs continue to amaze me, and Tapir monster looks exceptionally frightening.

Comparison Discotek Media BD & Toei BD

Discotek Media BD seems to be a re-encode of Toei BD M2TS files that even with the generation loss and lower bitrate manages to look pretty much the same. Episodes are divided over M2TS files with 3 or 2 episodes just like Toei BD.

Finished watching Disc 3 today. I recommend to save the Reunion Chat extra on Disc 3 for after finishing Disc 4 because of spoilers. I'm guessing that the Reunion Chat on Disc 4 should be viewed after finishing the series.

If other Discotek titles licensed from Toei are any indication, five years seems like a safe bet. I'd be surprised if this went out of print before 2027 or 2028 (and maybe Discotek would re-up to keep it in-print). It's still in-stock at Crunchyroll and Diabolik DVD.

Im a bargain hunter and its been a long wait for some of these titles to drop to a reasonable price for me. I barely managed to snag Juspion before it went out of print. And Im always on the edge of missing so many sets due to going OOP.

I thought it would get easier to collect my small, specific wishlist as time went on, but they keep releasing things I never expected, and my list has trippled in size since I started collecting. I scratch 1 off my list and 2 more get released...
