Early 2023 would be the most understandable way to write it, and gives a little leeway in the event that it gets delayed (like into Spring)

I’m sure this will look very lovely on Blu-ray. I love the look of Super 16, although there have been plenty of 16mm films on 4K UHD somewhere (The Evil Dead, mother!, The Hills Have Eyes, Dog Soldiers, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, etc), I can understand Discotek being choosy on what they release on that format.

The restoration for Noriko would be interesting considering it was shot on miniDV.

It’s hard to say if the original DI for it still exists. With the tools that exist now, AI upscaling may be the ideal way to go similar to Janus’ restoration of Inland Empire.

Just thought id mention some sad news here... Grasshopper films cancelled two Sion films. Whispering Star and Red Post on Escher Street.

Well, that sucks. Guess I should cancel my Red Post preorder. Hope someone else picks up the Sion slack.

I talked to grasshopper films on Facebook. Maybe someone else can express their disappointment but I doubt it makes a difference. They said Red Post can still be rented digitally, lol.

Extremely disappointing. I'd also like to know where this was mentioned, because I haven't seen any formal acknowledgement and I've had Red Post pre-ordered and paid for on UV for an age, where the release date was supposed to be 10 days ago – after it was already pushed back without comment from its May release date.

Nice. I'm really excited to revisit this one. I'll always remember watching this during my college years in a really small room on a cold night with no heater, but a lot of blankets. Back then it was an uncomfortable time, but now I look back to those days with fond memories. Either way, can't wait!

Not to Australia either, but this has happened before on other titles. Sometimes it takes a little while before international pre-orders are enabled. Hopefully that's what's going on here.

Edit: Pre-order is now open for me.

Watched it some time ago and it was rather refreshing in comparison to dull movies of today. Glad it's getting a remaster.
