Just 'Star Trek Discovery' - which he left after the third or fourth episode was finished (and ironically I find the first several episodes of the series by far the worst).

'Pushing Daisies' I still think was more of a victim of the writers strike than anything because the network did what they could with it....

I love everything Fuller does, so not too concerned with quality. I just wonder why?

Who are Peacock? Some American streaming service I've never heard of?

This might not be about Pamela Voorhees. The resdients of Crystal Lake always claimed the area was cursed, and there was a really good comic series set in the 1700's set on the land of what would become Camp Crystal Lake. It's been a while since I read it, but I think it was about a native American tribe being massacred when one of them gets possessed.

Well, at least we're getting something in the franchise now.......

Though A24 turns me off more than anything.

the friday the 13th aesthetic and the A24 aesthetic aren’t complete opposites, but they might as well be. so to try and mention that in the press release is a real head scratcher.

Why would you not mention the production studio in the press release?

****ing hell. You wait 13 years to see more Jason Voorhees hacking up teens, and after all the legal BS, and the "exciting" announcement you get is this prequel show!?!

Friday the 13th is a self-admitted, gratuitous, knock-off of Halloween... It's nothing more than a body count Slasher franchise and that's what fans love about it for **** sake! Any attempt at classing it up or adding "depth" to it is just stupid, and NOT what the majority of fans want!! Man, half of these Hollywood dumbasses need to be rounded up and thrown in a volcano! Moronic idea!

Gimme Jason Voorhees with his machete, at Camp Crystal Lake, in the 80's, butchering teenagers, practical VFX. Yes Hollywood, it really is THAT simple

There is another project in the works featuring Jason.

Blame Victor Miller and his petty lawsuit winning. Now thanks to him, the franchise is really screwed over due to him getting the Voorhees and Camp Crystal Lake.

There is a movie with "Jason" in the works but don't except it to be like the previous films. Probably be F13 in name only since Miller clearly refuses to play ball.

You could go down the path/road of Mrs. Vorhees being a psycho killer prior to going nuts after the drowning of her son. That there was another traumatic incident earlier in her life. Then her crazy is dormant only to be triggered by the next incident. Perhaps we see her attending this camp as a teenager? I'm going to reserve judgment until I see how it turns out. It could be interesting or it could suck. But, just as long as we are still getting new movies w/ Jason, I don't mind visiting crystal lake without him. Just a thought; Maybe have that actress that plays Pearl play Mrs. Vorhees?

Didn’t we get as much backstory that we really needed in the first F13th film? Does it really need to be elaborated on further?
What next, an unnecessary Elm Street prequel series focusing on Freddy (which again, we already got the required backstory in the film/s).

Maybe we get to see Mrs Voorhees get busy…if you know what I mean and I think you do…and then she gives birth to the baby that is Jason.

Backstory on what? We have no idea what this show is about.

there probably wouldn’t have even been a lawsuit if cunningham give miller some money from the merchandise.

i don’t blame miller. if you create something that winds up being huge, you should be entitled to some of the profits. cunningham cheaping out is why the lawsuit went forward.

obviously, there was no thought it would be what it has become. and the business has changed, so you wouldn’t have even thought in your wildest dreams then. “i should get some of the merchandise money.”

Excellent. So, for starters, what characters and locations and whatnot are you allowed to use from the Friday the 13th franchise?

Everything. We can use everything. We can go to Hell, we can go to space. That's not to say that we will do those things ... although if we do go 10 seasons, I will be lobbying hard to go to space.

Surprised this hasn't been a thing yet with some of the big franchises exploiting '80s nostalgia.

Halloween tried to do a bit of backstory with its sequels and the 2007 remake and I think we can safely say that nobody wanted Michael Meyers to be anyone's secret brother or bullied classmate. Just give us a monster!

UPDATE – 4pm EST, November 1, 2022 – Bryan Fuller has now officially confirmed to Fangoria, “A24 and Marc Toberoff, who is Victor Miller’s lawyer, have beautifully and excruciatingly assembled all of the Friday the 13th rights. As a streaming series, we have the rights to do everything underneath the Friday the 13th umbrella.”

Fuller continues, “The movie rights are a completely different thing. They are tied up at New Line and are super, super messy and probably won’t be untangled anytime soon, but as far as us chickens in the television industry, uh, roost, we have access to anything and everything that Friday the 13th has done up until this point.”

Can’t stand Fuller’s style. But if they can use Jason, and all his gimmicks for the tv show, then I’m cool with checking it out. I just don’t want this over dramatic slow-mo bullshit that Fuller’s last season of Hannibal, or first season of American God’s were. This needs to be schlocky, and paced a bit quicker when it needs to be.
