Not sure why it looks bad on yours though if you have a newer tv. My one guess was due to noticing you mentioning your tv is LED & not OLED. I’m no expert on these things obviously so I could be wrong.
Its probably just that color grading is just subjective. One guy might be looking at the blood while another guy looks at a car or skin tones. They seem to have tweaked the color a lot on this one and imo at least on the itunes 4k version the colors look colder and less natural which I don't think matches the lighting these types of shots should have in the real world.

Also this was a rather cheap film some of its problems may be source problems that are more well hidden in a sdr color range. which should be thought of while expanding the color gambit.

I put it on for a few on my phone that has an OLED screen & it looks WAY clearer on there than on my TV though. It's like a night & day difference. Than I put on something like Robocop 4K or Dark Knight 4K & they look perfectly clear on my TV.

Different movie. Different grades. Watching on phone is not the same as watching on a big screen.

Reservoir Dogs 4K disc HDR10 metadata:

Maximum Content Light Level : 136 cd/m2
Maximum Frame-Average Light Level : 29 cd/m2

Pulp Fiction 4K disc HDR10 metadata:

Maximum Content Light Level : 1000 cd/m2
Maximum Frame-Average Light Level : 184 cd/m2

In HDR10, the brightness level of the brightest pixel in the entire stream (MaxCLL) is 1148 nits. An average value of brightness peaks was measured at 470 nits. Similarly, across the entire feature film, 95.37% of the shots are made up of highlights (with a median measured at 144 nits). Regarding HEVC video compression, the average bitrate was measured at 63263 kbps and 67110 kbps (with Dolby Vision overlay).

this thread is funny, the HDX version is the 2007 copy of the movie and the 4K UHD is the recent remaster. thats why they are so different looking, because vudu doesnt bother updating the HDX stream for some titles. as they shouldnt

example: their HDX version of "the dark knight" is the 2:35 locked ratio 2008 grade of the movie, (no open matte scenes) while the UHD stream is indeed the recent remaster 4K version, thankfully also locked ratio.

Off topic question, but is Mr. White’s “I think he’s just passed out.” and Mr. Pink’s “Shut the f*ck up, man!” on the streams (or the DC for that matter)? They’re both on the old Blu-ray, but are missing from both physical discs in the 4K.
