Yasss. Purchased this movie five times already on physical media already but nothing other than death or imprisonment will stop me purchasing for a sixth time.

VHS, DVD, Koch Media Blu-ray which I sold when Shout announced theirs...... mistake because Shout's 2K 'remaster' suuucked so I immediately sold the Shout and re-bought the Koch Media.

Here's hoping this finally gets a worthy presentation.

The Shout 2k remaster was a massive improvement over the old Universal HD master on other BDs. THAT was DNR'd and EE'd beyond the infinite, utter dogshit!

Great news. Midnight Run is an absolute gem. Always feels like a slightly under appreciated, even little known film overall, but for us enlightened folk, we know how great it is.
The script is first rate, the chemistry and interplay between De Niro and Grodin is utter class, and the film has such a tremendous support cast - Kotto, Ashton, Farina, Pantoliano, morons number 1 & 2, even down to the many little roles throughout.

I wonder if Second Sight still have the UK rights? Would love to see them release it too, but not really willing to wait in the hope of one.

This and Planes, Trains & Autombiles are weird cases. On paper they sound like my type of films, but for some reason I can't enjoy them as much I'd like. Maybe the problem with these buddy films for me is that usually one of the characters is too annoying, and not in a good way.

Good to hear Midnight Run is getting a 4K, it's still a well made comedy.
