The Rock. Apart from The Rock (IMHO) being a better film, Con Air is just the theatrical cut so already a probably double dip. The Rock transfer is awesome.

The extended cut added nothing of note, it simply made a tight action movie seem...flabby. Get them both, forget about this double dip that'll probably never happen.

The Rock had better PQ IMO. I have both. I would rate the Rock a 5/5 on PQ for its age.

I watched con air first and then the rock the very next day so I had a good memory for camparison. What struck me as better PQ in the later was that the rock had a clearer and more sharply detailed picture(facial details in particular were top notch). Con Air just wasn't quite as clear and sharp. Both were excellent transfers though.

We are not talking about a huge difference though.

The Rock overall is a better movie. Picking the better of the two on pq is a difficult task and one I would say is even. If I had to choose I'd go with The Rock. Please feel free to buy both,I did, and lovin' it.

Between those two I'd go with The Rock

I watched them back to back when they were released and I thought PQ on ConAir was better but SQ from The Rock was better.

Absofriggenlutely. They added some extremely pointless scenes that upset the flow of the movie, and made some scenes dumber. Like when the DEA guy finds out his man was killed, they added a scene of him crying and talking about the past... horrible scene. Plus the looped music is annoying.

Yes, I read reviews but I wanna know from owners of Both.. They both have 4.7 scores for PQ.

I like the movies equally, so I'm not facturing that in right now...

What about better SQ? Which one has more subsonic bass?

Thanks

I bought both a couple of weeks ago and watched "The Rock" first, then watched "Con Air" the following day (watched both in the evening for optimal room darkness.) To be honest, I like "The Rock" better as a movie. "Con Air", however, had a much better picture quality, IMHO.

You guys make the choice harder on me then I thought possible

Thank you all though

Errr.. This is such a tuff one... Both seem technically on par with each other, so I think I will be picking Con Air today. It's been a while but I think I liked the movie itself a tad bit more.

I'm gonna price match Wal-Mart's 18.95 over at Wrost-Buy. Then use the Disney $5 bucks off coupon, get my Reward Zone points, then send in the $10 off rebate. If I can get one rebate per title I will go for both movies. I wanna read over all the details first unless some knows off hand? I have both titles on DVD already, so that's not a problem. If I can't use one rebate per title, I'll order The Rock from Buy.com w/Goodle checkout's $10 off discount. I need to save every penny I can now that I spent nearly $150 on Blu this week.... I really should slow down on my Blu spendings but I just can't stop when I can get a deal haha!
