Sounds like they're trying to pander to the U.S. market with the term "unrated" to sell copies. At $60 they're certainly taking the piss. I will also stick to my Roadshow release.
The "unrated" cut just has a couple of nothing-special deleted scenes reinserted and was released as a cash grab in the US, I still have it on DVD. So yes, it is a lot of marketing nonsense.

Nevertheless, I do love this film and so it's just a matter of whether I'm prepared to spend so much on fancy packaging and an HD upgrade for the deleted scenes version. It's cheaper than the German Mediabook edition but I still feel like the more times I do this the more expensive these things get...

I remember there were two releases here on blu-ray & DVD; an 'MA' rated one and a harsher 'R' rated "director's cut" version which was pretty nasty and I think extended... This new one will just be the 'R' rated cut, I'd think.

You might be thinking of the second one, which did get two releases when it first came out.

I'm good with the StudioCanal Zavvi exclusive steelbook. Had this been a 4k set of the 2 films I'd been all over it.

I just preordered this from Diabolik for 41.99 for anyone who needs the information. I decided not to wait if there are only 1000 being made.

Sometimes they sell extended cuts with the deleted scenes re-instated into the unrated cut, just as a marketing gimmick.

Some people posting seem surprised, like they didn’t know 2 cuts existed for Wolf Creek. The 2 cuts have been available on the German Blu-Ray for years.

Anybody with decent editing software could do this themselves. I was tempted when I owned the three DVD disc set of the first film; but on seeing the deleted scenes, wasn't too bothered about it.

Easy pass. The Aussie double feature BD set is good enough for me.

Out of Stock at Via Vision.

I’m assuming that JB already called dibs on a large chunk of the print run so this wouldn’t actually be all 1000 sold, but it’s still quite impressive.

My copy just arrived from Diabolik! I can't wait to check it out. The quality of the 3D Lenticular Hardcase and art cards is excellent. No buyer's remorse here!

I also got mine and agree the box is very nice.

I'm disappointed the unrated cut only has an LPCM 2.0 audio mix though.

I agree that sound mixes can be frustrating sometimes. Unfortunately for me in my current situation, I am watching everything with only a soundbar in front of me. Now that is frustrating!!

Yeah, I was thinking that I perhaps shouldn't have blown so much money but when I saw the lenticular case I was at peace with my spending.

Glad this dropped in time for Sydney Supanova... I'll get Mr. Jarratt to sign it for me

Actually, the Unrated Cut does have a fair bit of gore that was taken out of the US Theatrical (I’m pretty sure the unrated was released as theatrical here).

Good news too. Probably already discussed here, not sure. I opened the set today and found that both discs are 50GB.
