I didn't know it was one of Arrow's biggest sellers but it's a favorite of mine where Arrow is the only one to release a good looking edition of it to my knowledge. Yet I didn't buy it because I can't get my region free kit to work.

That's a shame because the Arrow disc looks terrific. The old master isn't terrible but it's still a fairly soft, dated-looking, DVD-era transfer complete with telecine wobble.

I lurrrve Heathers, it's one of my faves. I'm seeing the musical at the cinema next week - I think it's a recent-ish recording of one of the West End performances. Haven't listened to any of the songs before so I'm going in pretty much blind.

I think heathers will come out on 4k this year. Heathers the musical is out on disc on 5th June. Maybe this will get announced with arrows June releases. Would be a perfect time to come out. Also its the 35th anniversary this year.

If FiM did the encode for this edition it will be better than the A24 one. And I will buy it, as well.

I’m a hardcore FiM stan but where did everyone get the impression A24’s compression leaves something to be desired? Their MIDSOMMAR and THE GREEN KNIGHT releases are sheer perfection.

Nowhere, but that's my default setting. FiM is God.

I downgraded to Kino Tinker Tailor and so far have stuck with the Paramount Wolf of Wall Street. But other than that, have gone all FIM, I think. Both close enough. I might sidestep for my BFI Seventh Seal and even lose HDR for better subs.

I love this movie quite a bit. I'm sticking with my order for the A24 4K release. While I don't necessarily love the larger packaging in general, I do love the amount of work and detail that gets put into their releases. I've also been dying for a rewatch, and I expect A24's A/V presentation will knock it out of the park. I will not have buyers remorse in the slightest, and I will gladly double-dip if arrow comes through with A4K release from their hints. A Steelbook variant will make a double-dip even easier to swallow.

So there might be a chance this is Blu-ray only.

On the Boutique Blu-ray reddit, DiabolikDVD commented "Arrow hasn't even announced if it's a UHD" in a thread where someone was asking if they should get the Arrow or A24 release.

And as they have a business relationship, that could be a hint that it's not.

Guess we'll see next Thursday/Friday.

There is virtually no chance this is only a BD, it would be one of the most pointless releases they've ever done.

This is definitely going to be 4K. The UK has only just had a Universal blu ray release

It most likely is, I'm just sharing thoughts gathered from folks who do indeed have insider information. A super deluxe Blu-ray isn't out of the question for Arrow, they've put out plenty of them for films that already had decent blu-ray releases, so thats why it COULD still be Blu only, but most likely isn't.

They're going to say no until Arrow says yes no matter how many times Arrow says "yes" in teaser pictures.
