I am excited for Batman Begins, not so much for The Matrix as I already have them on DVD. I find it difficult for me to make the decision to buy a movie on Blu-ray that I already have on DVD, so the Matrix Trilogy are not a priority.

As for the original Batman movies, same deal. Already have them on DVD so I can wait to upgrade.

IMHO, I thought that Michael Keaton personified Batman the best but I found that physically, Keaton didn't look the part. He's too scrawny. The 1st of the 4 initial films was the best one, no doubt about it. I personally didn't like the second one at all, although there were some good scene. I just can't accept those robotic penguins. But I must say that I enjoyed Batman Begins above all of them. It was more "real", for lack of a better term. As good as Jack was playing Joker in the first one, I am really looking forward to Ledger's "darker" performance, rest his soul.

As a fan of the Frank Miller-type Batman, the Burton films just don't do it for me. I've always thought Nicholson's Joker, while good, was overrated as well. I never got the sense from any of the first four Batman films that Batman is not the "mask" . . . Bruce Wayne is. What I loved about Begins is that he
has a hard time finding his role as Bruce Wayne since he is totally consumed by Batman. I love how he has to ask Alfred exactly what he's supposed to do to make sure the Bruce Wayne "costume" works.

I never got the feeling from Keaton's character that he really had that drive to be Batman. It seemed like it was more a job than an obsession. Plus the fact that they had him offing people left and right, which goes against one of the main principles of the character.

While the first Matrix is definitely the standout of the trilogy, I take guilty pleasure in watching the other two. If I can hear the machine in Revolutions speak to Neo in PCM or lossless, it'll be worth it. I love that part, I don't know why.

"SPEAK."

The Matrix and Batman Begins as standalone releases. The other movies in those series were good, but probably nothing I would watch with any frequency.

I never liked the other two Matrix movies... so I'll only get the first one. Also, I wouldn't get the Batman Anthology because I despise the two directed by Schumacher... they should have never existed.

I intend to buy them all, but I'm more excited about the Matrix Trilogy.

I'll probably invite some friends over and do my best to shatter the windows.

i understand what u are saying 100%. and i agree also. but the first two films were great films for what they were. as u can see from my order i like bales batman better than keatons for the reasons u stated.

as for the matrix the first was great movie but for some reason i liked the second better. maybe bcuz of the actions scenes. the third was a let down as well.

I'm pickin' up what you're putting down. I watched the first Batman about 3 weeks ago to give it another chance, but I really had a hard time getting into it. Like you said though, when it first came out it was amazing, and I was a big fan for quite awhile. Batman Begins completely blew it out of the water, and from the little bit I've seen of Dark Knight that should be even better. Hopefully it'll turn out to be the "Aliens" of the comic book movies.

I will not be getting the Batman set as I hate the 2nd and 4th ones. Batman Begins I believe every one is getting. So I will buy 1st and 3rd separates and all 3 Matrix.

Matrix Trilogy for me, then Batman Begins. That's it for me. Never did buy the DVD of BB. It was good, but not that good. The sequel is looking better.
