88 replied yes to someone asking if there will be a 3D option, no word on how different it'll be to the Kino though.

88 Made a big hint on Social Media a while back about them doing a 3d release. Most were speculating that it would be FLesh For Frankenstein or Silent Madness, but in all reality, it's probably this.

According to the friend who originally told me about the Pete Walker set, he said that they'd said on Facebook that the 3d was being included. I only have his word for it, and there is always a possibilty that he misread something of course.

Nice! Wish they could get the rights to release this in the US, too, but eh. If it was 4K I'd probably import it, as is I'll wait to see what the price gets down to.

I haven't watched the first two, but Frightmare, House of Whipcord, and House of Mortal Sin are among the best horror movies of the 70s IMO and Schizo's also pretty darn good. The Comeback was a little meh, but still wayyyy above the level of some of his contemporaries he unfairly gets lumped in with (ex Norman Warren). He really deserves a serious reappraisal. Frightmare and House of Whipcord in particular are masterpieces of turning the screws on the audience.

It's a very nice looking box, the artwork alone is tempting but I'll wait for full specs as I have the US discs.

If you can find it, Steve Chibnall's book Making Mischief is very good but it's long OOP. Would be nice if FABPress did a reprint

I'll have a look for this OOP book that you mention in the above, quoted post. Still haven't got that book about The Haunted House of Horror.

Please tell me those aren't seven Full Fat UK cases in that box?

It's gonna be a monster. My poor overwrought shelves.

Did anyone have the coffin shaped DVD boxset back in the day?

I think the Pete Walker one was ok, but never had so many floaters in the Amicus one.

Yes I had the Pete Walker one and it was so delicate it felt like it could fall apart each time you took a disc out.

I remember the Amicus set had a replacement program for the discs - some of mine were scratched. They even sent replacement hubs!

Plus, in the booklet some paragraphs were out of order (doi)!

Still got the PW one, plus the Tigon one.

The design of the holders in those coffin boxes either results in discs getting loose or heavily stresses the central plastic rings of the DVDs to the point where they crack. It's another example of packaging that was designed for looks instead of keeping the discs safe.

Some decent extras on the Odeon Blu-rays of Whipcord and Mortal Sin, hope 88 can retain those.

I'll hold onto them until full specs are confirmed.

Like pnaschy, I also still have mine. Kept it because, unlike the Blu-ray counterparts, the DVDs had subtitles, which sometimes can be an advantage understanding the accents, when you are not a native English speaker.

It's a bit early to be thinking about that, given that it's not out until late September...

I just want to know if they've done the right thing by the 3D version, if they have, it's worth every penny at full price.

If not, then I will cancel my order and wait for a sale also.
